AMD R5 3550H

De AMD Ryzen 5 3550H is een mobile SoC die voorgesteld werd in januari 2019. De chip combineert vier Zen+ cores (8 threads) geklokt aan 2.1 - 3.7 GHz met een Radeon RX Vega 8-GPU met 8 CU's (512 shaders) geklokt aan max. 1400 MHz. In vergelijking met de gelijkaardige Ryzen 5 3500U biedt de 3550H een 20 Watt hoger TDP en dus betere prestaties onder aanhoudende belasting. De geïntegreerde dual-channel-geheugencontroller ondersteunt tot DDR4-2400-geheugen. Aangezien de functionaliteiten van de Picasso-APU's identiek zijn aan die van de Raven Ridge-voorgangers, verwijzen we naar ons hoofdartikel over Raven Ridge.

De Picasso-SoC's zijn gebaseerd op de Zen+ microarchitectuur met kleine verbeteringen die moeten leiden tot 3% meer IPC (Instructions per Clock). Het 12-nm-proces laat daarnaast hogere kloksnelheden toe voor een gelijkaardig energieverbruik.

Volgens AMD zijn de Picasso-APU's ongeveer 8% sneller dan de voorgangers. Met zijn TDP van 35 Watt is de 3550H een performante mid-range processor voor laptops, inclusief gaming-laptops. De prestaties zouden ergens tussen die van een Ryzen 5 2500U en Ryzen 7 2700U moeten liggen.
