AMD R5 PRO 4650U

De AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 4650U is een processor voor dunne en lichte laptops op basis van de Renoir-architectuur. De 4650U integreert zes kernen op basis van de Zen 2 microarchitectuur. Ze zijn geklokt op 2.1 (gegarandeerde basisklok) tot 4 GHz (Turbo) met SMT / Hyperthreading ondersteuning (12 threads). De chip wordt vervaardigd in het moderne 7 nm proces bij TSMC en mede dankzij dit proces adverteert AMD voor een 2x betere prestatie per Watt voor de Renoir chips.

De PRO-processoren bieden een scala aan zakelijke functies zoals hardware beveiliging (bijv. AMD Memory Guard), beheerbaarheid (bijv. ondersteuning voor Microsoft Endpoint Manager), en langere beschikbaarheid en softwarestabiliteit. 

De prestaties moeten vergelijkbaar zijn met die van de Ryzen 5 4600U die vergelijkbare specificaties biedt. Vergeleken met de snellere Ryzen 7 PRO 4750U is deze duidelijk sneller in multi threaded workloads die gebruik kunnen maken van de twee extra kernen.

Naast de zes CPU-kernen integreert de APU ook een Radeon RX Vega 6 geïntegreerde grafische kaart met 6 CU's en tot 1500 MHz. De tweekanaals geheugencontroller ondersteunt DDR4-3200 en het energiezuinige LPDDR4-4266 RAM. Verder is er 8 MB level 3 cache op de chip te vinden. De TDP van de APU is gespecificeerd op 15 Watt (standaard) en kan door de laptopleverancier worden geconfigureerd van 10 tot 25 Watt. Dat betekent dat de chip bedoeld is voor dunne en lichte laptops (maar met ventilatoren).
