AMD Ryzen 9 4900H
De AMD Ryzen 9 4900H is een mobiele SoC voor grote laptops gebaseerd op de Renoir-architectuur. Op het moment van zijn aankondiging in maart 2020 is het het snelste model van de 4000H-serie. De R9 4900H beschikt over alle acht cores op basis van de Zen 2-microarchitectuur. Ze zijn geklokt aan 3,3 (gegarandeerde basiskloksnelheid) tot 4,4 GHz (Turbo) en ondersteunen SMT / Hyperthreading (16 threads). De chip is vervaardigd in het moderne 7 nm-proces bij TSMC en mede daardoor adverteert AMD een 2x verbeterde prestatie per Watt voor de Renoir-chips
Volgens onze informatie is de Ryzen 9 4900H slechts iets sneller dan de Ryzen 7 4800H. De CPU is 400 MHz (basis +14%) tot 200 MHz (boost +5%) hoger geklokt, maar de prestatiewinsten hangen sterk af van de instellingen voor koeling en TDP. In vergelijking met Intel-chips zou het i9-9980HK-topmodel op een gelijkaardig niveau moeten presteren. Dat betekent dat de Ryzen 9 4900H alle veeleisende taken en gaming perfect zou moeten aankunnen.
Naast de acht CPU-cores integreert de APU ook een Radeon RX Vega 8 geïntegreerde grafische kaart met 8 CU's. De dual-channel-geheugencontroller ondersteunt DDR4-3200 en energiezuinig LPDDR4-4266 RAM. De TDP van de APU is ingesteld op 45 Watt (standaard). Dat betekent dat de chip bedoeld is voor grote en relatief zware laptops.
