Intel Core i9-10885H
De Intel Core i9-10885H is een high-end processor voor laptops met acht kernen op basis van de Comet Lake architectuur (CML-H, 4e generatie van Skylake). De processor klokt tussen 2,4 en 5,3 GHz en kan dankzij Hyper-Threading tot zestien threads tegelijk uitvoeren. De processor wordt nog steeds gefabriceerd in het oude 14nm (14nm++) proces.
De Comet Lake-architectuur is vergelijkbaar met Coffee Lake en biedt dezelfde functies en wordt in hetzelfde 14nm-procedé geproduceerd. Naast de verbeterde kloksnelheden ondersteunt de geheugencontroller nu ook snellere DDR4-2933 RAM. Meer informatie over Comet Lake en alle modellen en artikelen hierover zijn hier te vinden.
De Core i9-10855H ondersteunt de beheerfuncties vPro, TXT en SIPP.
De prestaties van de Core i9-10885H zouden iets boven het oudere Core i9-9980HK topmodel moeten liggen, dankzij de potentieel hogere single core turbo. Dankzij de 8 cores en hoge Turbo snelheden, zouden zelfs veeleisende applicaties zeer goed moeten draaien op de CPU. Prestaties op lange termijn zijn echter altijd afhankelijk van het koelsysteem van de laptop en de systeemconfiguratie. Op het moment van aankondiging is de i9-10885H de op een na snelste Comet Lake-H CPU achter de Core i9-10980HK.
De geïntegreerde Intel UHD Graphics 630 iGPU wordt verondersteld vergelijkbare prestaties te bieden als de UHD630 in de Core i7-9880H. Als low-end oplossing zal het alleen huidige games soepel draaien op gereduceerde details - als dat al het geval is.
Intel specificeert het TDP met 45 watt en daarom is de i9 alleen geschikt voor grote laptops met goede koelingsoplossingen. Met behulp van cTDP-down kan de CPU ook worden geconfigureerd tot 35 Watt, wat resulteert in verminderde prestaties.
