Qualcomm X2E-78-100

De Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Elite X2E-78-100 is de langzaamste variant van de X2 notebook SoC's die in september 2025 op de markt komt. Deze biedt 12 van de 18 CPU-kernen, verdeeld in 6 primaire kernen met maximaal 4 GHz (4 GHz alle kernen) en 6 prestatiekernen met maximaal 3,4 GHz. Samen heeft het CPU-gedeelte 34 MB cachegeheugen.

De SoC bevat ook een zwakkere X2-85 GPU met 1,35 GHz, een NPU met maximaal 80 TOPS (INT8), LPDDR5x-9523 geheugencontroller met 128 bits en 152 GB/s bandbreedte en de Spectra ISP voor dubbele camera's tot 36 MP. Opslagmedia kunnen worden aangesloten via NVMe, PCIe 5.0, UFS 4.0, SD Express en SD 3.0. De chip ondersteunt ook 3x USB 4.0 poorten.

De CPU-prestaties zouden ver achter moeten blijven bij de krachtigere modellen zoals de Topmodel X2E-96-100 (18 cores tot 5 GHz) of de X2E-88-100 (18 cores tot 4,7 GHz). We schatten dat de prestaties iets boven de oude Snapdragon X Elite X1E-84-100 (ook 12 kernen, tot 4,2 GHz).

De SoC wordt geproduceerd met een mix van N3X en N3P (via ComputerBase) bij TSMC (3nm).
