Intel i5-L16G7

De Core i5-L16G7 is een SoC met 5 processorkernen gebaseerd op de Lakefield architectuur. Het maakt gebruik van een snelle Sunny Cove-kern (bekend van Ice-Lake CPU's maar zonder AVX512) met maximaal 3 GHz en 4 kleine Tremont cores (Atom / Celeron) met maximaal 2,8 GHz. Met behulp van alle 5 kernen kan de CPU tot 1.8 GHz bereiken, de basiskloksnelheid is 1.4 GHz. De CPU ondersteunt geen HyperThreading / SMT. De rest van de SoC is vergelijkbaar met de Ice Lake chips, zoals de Gen 11 grafische kaart met 64 EU's (vergelijkbaar met de Iris Plus G7 maar dan geklokt op 500 MHz en met de naam UHD Graphics).

Volgens Intel zou de L16G7 ongeveer 24% sneller moeten zijn in multi threaded toepassingen en 12% sneller in single threaded toepassingen in vergelijking met de oude Core i7-8500Y (Amber Lake-Y, 2 kernen, 1.5 - 4.2 GHz). Dat betekent dat het iets langzamer moet zijn dan de Core i3-8130U.

Met een gespecificeerd TDP van 7 Watt (PL1, 9,5 Watt PL2) is de CPU zeer geschikt voor dunne en lichte laptops en Windows gebaseerde tablets. / 2-in-1. Intel beweert dat het standby-vermogen sterk is afgenomen (91% beter dan de i7-8500Y met 2,5 mW). De SoC wordt geproduceerd in 10nm en maakt gebruik van de Intel Foveros 3D Packaging technologie. Foveros wordt gebruikt om de in 22FFL vervaardigde I/O matrijs te stapelen, de compute matrijs in 10nm en tot 8 GB LPDDR4X-4267.
