Intel HD Graphics P630

De Intel HD Graphics P630 (GT2) is een geïntegreerde grafische kaart die kan worden aangetroffen in verschillende Xeon-workstation-processors van de Kaby Lake-generatie. De GT-versie van de Skylake-GPU biedt 24 Execution Units (EU's) geklokt aan maximaal 1050 MHz (afhankelijk van het CPU-model). Dankzij het ontbreken van apart grafisch geheugen of eDRAM-cache moet de P630 het hoofdgeheugen aanspreken (2x 64-bit DDR3L-1600/DDR4-2133). De GPU maakt gebruik van dezelfde chip als de HD Graphics 630 voor consumenten in Kaby Lake-H-processors, maar beschikt over geoptimaliseerde drivers voor workstation- en CAD-software. Volgens Intel is de GPU gecertificeerd voor 15 applicaties (zie lijst).

Prestaties

Volgens Intel zijn de prestaties van de P630 identiek aan die van de Intel HD Graphics P530 (Skylake-gebaseerde voorganger) en 1,94x sneller dan de oude Intel HD Graphics P4000. Wat gaming betreft zou de GPU ongeveer even snel moeten zijn als een discrete GeForce 920M, waardoor oude games (2015) speelbaar zouden moeten zijn in lage of gemiddelde instellingen.

Features

De herziene video-engine in de Kaby Lake-chips biedt nu hardware-ondersteuning voor H.265/HEVC Main10 aan een 10-bit-kleurdiepte en de VP9-codec. Daarnaast wordt HDCP 2.2 in alle chips ondersteund, wat bijvoorbeeld toelaat om 4K-video's van Netflix te kijken.

Energieverbruik

De HD Graphics P630 kan gevonden worden in mobiele quad-core Xeon-processors met een TDP van 45 Watt en desktop-processors van de Xeon-serie met hogere TDP's.
