AMD Ryzen 7 5700X
De AMD Ryzen 7 5700X is een desktopprocessor met 8 kernen en simultaneous multithreading (SMT), wat betekent dat hij 16 threads tegelijk kan verwerken. In april 2022 presenteerde AMD de Ryzen 7 5700X, een nieuwe 8-core processor die erg lijkt op de AMD Ryzen 7 5800X. Vanwege het lagere TDP zijn er echter geen beperkingen voor de klokfrequentie. Desondanks haalt de AMD Ryzen 7 5700X tot 4,6 GHz in boost, wat slechts 100 MHz minder is dan de AMD Ryzen 7 5800X. De basisklok daalt echter aanzienlijk naar 3,4 GHz.
De prestaties van de AMD Ryzen 7 5700X zijn consistent uitstekend in alle toepassingen. De native 8-core kan echt zijn sterke punten laten zien, vooral in multi-threaded toepassingen, hoewel de single-core prestaties ook aanzienlijk zijn verbeterd in vergelijking met de oudere Zen 2 architectuur.
De interne structuur van de processor is vergelijkbaar met die van de AMD Ryzen 7 5800X. De CCX-modules zijn ook met elkaar verbonden via de I/O-die, wat we al kennen van Zen2. Volgens AMD zou de Infinity Fabric nu echter kloksnelheden tot 2 GHz moeten halen, wat op zijn beurt een RAM kloksnelheid van 4.000 MHz mogelijk maakt zonder prestatieverlies.
Wat betreft productieprocessen vertrouwt AMD ook op TSCM voor de 7nm productie van de CPU-kernen in de Vermeer-processoren, hoewel de I/O-die nog steeds in 12 nm wordt geleverd door Globalfoundries.
De AMD Ryzen 7 5700X is indrukwekkend in gaming dankzij de aanzienlijk verbeterde IPC in vergelijking met Zen2. Wat betreft stroomverbruik maakt de AMD Ryzen 7 5700X indruk met zijn lage TDP van slechts 65 watt. Dit betekent dat de processor ook zonder problemen met een compacte luchtkoeler kan worden gebruikt. De AMD Ryzen 7 5800X werkt met een TDP van 105 watt.
