AMD A4-5150M

De AMD A4-5150M is een mobiele dual-core processor gebaseerd op de Richland architectuur. Als opvolger van de A4-4300M levert de A4-5150M iets betere CPU en grafische prestaties en zit in het lagere segment. De APU integreert 2 CPU cores, een DirectX11 grafische unit en de Northbridge samen met een DDR3 geheugencontroller.

Vergeleken met Trinity is Richland een klein beetje aangepast. Er zijn geen veranderingen in de feature set of de Pro-MHz prestaties. Het ontwerp van de chip is nog steeds gebaseerd op de Bulldozer architectuur die uit zogenaamde modules bestaat. Elke module hebben twee geïntegreerde integer units maar slechts één FPU. Net als Trinity ondersteund Richland bijna alle huidige technieken als AVX (inclusief FMA), AES of Turbo Core.

Volgens de kloksnelheden van 2.7 tot 3.3 GHz zouden de A4-5150M ongeveer gelijk moeten zijn aan die van een A6-4400M en net het niveau van een Pentium P6000. De prestaties bij gebruik van huidige applicaties en games zouden prima moeten zijn.

De grafische chip is een Radeon HD 8350G en biedt 128 shaders (VLIW4) en heeft een vergelijkbare kloksnelheid als de HD 7420G. Met snel dual-channel geheugen zullen de prestaties waarschijnlijk hetzelfde zijn dan die van een afzonderlijke Radeon HD 7450M.

Het verbruik van de gehele APU staat op 35 watt, wat vergelijkbaar is aan normale middenklasse modellen van de concurrentie. Hiermee is de APU het best geschikt voor 14 inch notebooks of groter.
