AMD A4-3305M

De AMD A4-3305M (codenaam Llano) is een dual-core processor voor instapniveau laptops. Deze is onderdeel van de Fusion-familie APU's (Accelerated Processing Units) en beschikt over een geïntegreerde Radeon HD 6480G grafische kaart. De processor core is standaard geklokt op 1.9 GHz en kan automatisch overgeklokt worden naar 2.5 GHz (TurboCore, afhankelijk van temperatuur en gebruikte cores).

De processor core is gebaseerd op de 12h Husky-familie. De Husky core is erg vergelijkbaar met de oudere Phenom II mobiele processoren maar beschikt over een extra hardware divider. De prestaties per klok zullen echter vergelijkbaar zijn met de oude Turion II, Athlon II, Phenom II mobiele processoren (die net als de Llano APU niet over L3 cache beschikken).

De prestaties van het processor gedeelte zullen vergelijkbaar zijn met de oudere AMD Athlon II M320. Door TurboCore zullen de single-threaded prestaties wat beter zijn (AMD Turion II N530 niveau) en de multithreaded prestaties iets lager. De prestaties zijn dan ook duidelijk slechter dan vergelijkbaar geklokte Sandy Bridge processoren (bijv. Core i3-2310M).

De Llano APU's beschikken over een geïntegreerde DirectX 11 compatible grafische chip met maximaal 400 cores. De AMD Radeon HD 6480G genaamde versie in de A4-serie biedt echter slechts 160 cores op 593 MHz. Dat is het voornaamste verschil met de A4-3300M die over een "normale" 6480G met 240 shaders op 444 MHz beschikt (die wat sneller zou moeten zijn). Beide beschikken niet over eigen geheugen en kunnen ook niet over het geïntegreerde cache beschikken (in tegenstelling tot de Intel HD 3000). De APU beschikt verder over een geïntegreerde UVD3 video processor voor het decoderen van de meeste HD video's (zoals H.264, VC-1, MPEG4).

De A4-3305M beschikt ook over een geïntegreerde dual-channel geheugencontroller met ondersteuning voor DDR3(L)-1333 geheugen en een PCIe 2.0 controller.

Het TDP van 35 watt voor de APU (inclusief grafische kaart en geheugen controller) maken deze het geschiktst voor 14- tot 15-inch laptops.
