Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus 5G
Het Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ (Plus) 5G Mobile Platform is een high-end SoC voor smartphones die medio 2021 werd geïntroduceerd en bij Samsung in 5 nm werd geproduceerd.
Integreert één "Prime Core" op basis van een ARM Cortex-X1 architectuur geklokt op maximaal 3 GHz. Drie andere prestatiekernen zijn gebaseerd op de A78 maar klokken tot 2,42 GHz. Verder zijn er vier energiebesparende kernen geïntegreerd die zijn gebaseerd op de ARM Cortex-A55 architectuur en klokken tot 1,8 GHz. Naast de processorkernen integreert de SoC een WiFi 6e modem, een Hexagon 780 DSP (tot 26 TOPS aan AI-prestaties) en een Spectra 580 ISP. De geïntegreerde geheugencontroller ondersteunt nu sneller LPDDR5-geheugen met maximaal 3.200 MHz. 5G is nu opgenomen in de chip met de Snapdragon X60 modem.
Vergeleken met de oudere Snapdragon 888, biedt de 888+ een iets hoger geklokte prime core (+160 MHz) en een 23% snellere Hexagon 790 DSP. Daardoor is het nu de snelste Android SoC (op het moment van aankondiging), maar nog steeds iets langzamer (CPU en GPU) dan de Apple A14 en A15 Bionic SoC's.
