Qualcomm Snapdragon 675
De Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 (SD775) is een snelle mid-range ARM-gebaseerde SoC die vooral wordt aangetroffen in Android-tablets en smartphones. De chip beschikt over 8 Kryo 460-cores (64-bit) die verdeel zijn over twee clusters. Een performante cluster met twee ARM Cortex-A76-cores geklokt aan max. 2 GHz en een energie-efficiënte cluster met zes kleine ARM Cortex-A55-cores geklokt aan max. 1.6 GHz. Beide clusters kunnen ook tegelijk worden gebruikt.
Naast de 8 CPU-cores integreert de SoC ook een tragere mid-range Adreno 612-GPU, een X12 LTE-modem met max. 600 Mbps download (Cat 12) en 150 Mbps upload (Cat 13), een 802.11ac (Wifi 5) Wave 2 WLAN modem (max. 867 Mbps), een Bluetooth 5.0-radio, satellietpositionering (GPS, QZSS, GLONASS, SBAS, Beidou en Galileo) en een video-engine (tot 4k30-encoding en ondersteuning voor H.265, H.264, VP8 en VP9).
Dankzij de twee snelle Cortex-A76 kan de SD675 zelfs de oude high-end Snapdragon 835-SoC verslaan in sommige benchmarks. De minder krachtige Snapdragon 670 behaalt bv. slechts 70 tot 77% van de prestaties in Geekbench 4.3 (single - multi-core-test). Moderne high-end SoC's zoals de Snapdragon 855 zijn echter nog 50-70% sneller dan de 675.
De Snapdragon 675 wordt gefabriceerd in het nieuwe 11nm-LLP-proces (Low Power Plus) bij Samsung, wat een combinatie van 14nm en 10nm is. In vergelijking met 14nm-LPP zou het 11nm-LPP-proces de prestaties met 15% moeten verhogen en het formaat van de chip met 10% moeten reduceren (bron: Samsung).
