Mediatek Dimensity 1080

De Mediatek Dimensity 1080 is een ARM SoC (system-on-a-chip) uit het middensegment die gebruikt kan worden in zowel smartphones als tablets (voornamelijk Android). De SoC bevat twee ARM Cortex-A78 kernen met snelheden tot 2,6 GHz voor veeleisende taken en zes energiebesparende ARM Cortex-A55 kernen met kloksnelheden tot 2 GHz.

De chip heeft een geïntegreerde sub-6 GHz 5G-modem inclusief dual-SIM ondersteuning die een maximale downloadsnelheid tot 2,77 Gbit/s kan bereiken. Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) wordt ondersteund, evenals Bluetooth 5.2.;

De geheugencontroller is geschikt voor LPDDR4x of LPDDR5 werkgeheugen en UFS 3.1 massaopslag. Als geïntegreerde grafische kaart gebruikt de SoC de ARM Mali-G68 MC4die beeldschermen met 120 Hz en HDR10+ met een maximale resolutie van 2.520 x 1.440 pixels ondersteunt.

De verschillen met de Dimensity 920 zijn klein, alleen de iets hogere maximale klok en ondersteuning voor camera's met een hogere resolutie zijn te vinden.

De MediaTek Dimensity 1080 wordt nog steeds in 6 nm gefabriceerd.
