Overall, the vivo X300 Pro came across as a very capable phone, but one you might buy primarily for its camera. The camera continues to be a stunner, giving most smartphones a run for their money. However, the phone is also a missed opportunity in some ways, as there could have been more improvements if there really had to be a jump from X200 to X300.

Well, there’s just one slight problem – the price. It’s not exactly the most affordable vivo smartphone out there since it is a flagship model. For reference, our review unit in the 16+512GB configuration retails for PHP 77,999. Then again, you do get what you pay for with everything that it offers. As for the Photographer Kit, if you’re not trying to take photos of birds or even not really into photography or videography, there’s no need for you to get it.

I've been testing the more premium model as my full-time handset this past week, so here's my verdict. Battery life is also at the top of the game, whatever your choice. The regular model does a fantastic job at any time of day, pumping out attractive portrait photos. However, it's the Vivo X300 Pro which truly excels at night, even with the zoom lens. And that's without the Photography Kit too.

In Geekbench 6, the Vivo (3,403 for single and 10,010 for multi) even runs the Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max (3,715 for single and 9,497 for multi) close. Do note that this powerful chipset gets warm when running an intensive app or game. There is a good amount of throttling in 3DMark's Wild Life Extreme stress test (performance declined by 57%). But the Vivo X300 Pro's best and worst 3DMark scores still beat the iPhone's. In short, you can confidently run all your games at the highest setting. The Vivo X300 Pro is a good deal if you manage to snag it with the pre-order freebies (till Nov 21). Otherwise, it faces stiff competition from other Chinese flagship phones as well as older (and discounted) flagship phones. But if you're even remotely interested in smartphone photography, the Vivo X300 Pro should be on your shortlist, even at its S$1,599 launch price. It's available on Shopee and Lazada.

Everything else is, for better or worse, the cherry on top. Purists may still argue that this is more a sign of an algorithmic advancement rather than one for mobile photography. While they may be right, the average consumer will probably see it as a distinction without a difference. Save for maybe that artificial bluing of the night sky. And some of the more jarring AI corrections when taking shots of subjects in motion. It is a bit of a shame that a few opportunities slipped by with the vivo X300 Pro. One example is the lack of a dedicated shutter button, pioneered by the Sony Xperia phones, and adapted by the direct competitor OPPO Find X9 Pro. But with all these in mind, RM4,699 is not an unfair ask for a phone that takes shots this good.

Alright, so with that, we’ve come to the end of this review. And honestly speaking, I really, really love the new Vivo X300 Pro. For me, right now, this is the phone to beat. Yes, there’s still another strong contender coming up, the OPPO Find X9 Pro, which I’ve actually ordered, and it’s arriving in about a week. But what I can say for sure right now is I am not going back to my S25 Ultra. (throw S25 Ultra) This is going to be my daily driver for the next few months, just because of how ridiculously good the cameras are, especially that telephoto lens. That’s my go-to lens these days. Every time I see something interesting, that’s the one I reach for.And what I am even more excited for is the upcoming Vivo X300 Ultra, which is supposed to go global soon.

In Europe, the phone sells for €1,400, while the photography kit adds another €600. That’s expensive, and converted to USD, it gets uncomfortably close to what a good mirrorless camera can cost.

The Vivo X300 Pro hasn't launched internationally yet, but considering that we have a global unit in our hands — it's assumed that it will, and soon. The bad news is that it's still not coming to the US — we had that confirmed. You may be able to obtain one through resellers, but you will have to double-check and triple-check if your carrier has the needed bands for whatever unit you are looking at, and don't expect official support. While we have no pricing details for global markets, its predecessor had an MSRP of €1,299, so it'll probably be around that point. That's around the area of a 256 GB iPhone 17 Pro, or 512 GB Galaxy S25 Ultra. And the Vivo competes with those quite well — excellent camera, buttery software, all the features the competitors have, Gemini on board. It will get 4 years of Android updates, so that's less than the 7 years that Samsung and Google offer.

Vivo somehow managed to deliver even better cameras, and the result is that the X300 Pro takes the best photos of any phone available today — there's no question about that. The powerful MediaTek internals hold up to demanding tasks, most regions get a massive battery, and there isn't much to fault with the rest of the device. The software has been updated to OriginOS 6 globally, and it is much better to use than the outgoing Funtouch OS — if glitchy occasionally. On the whole, if you're looking to buy a new phone and want the best cameras and a great all-round device, the X300 Pro is the phone to beat.

A glossy and overly curved phone feels outdated in this world of flat, matte, slab phones we live in. Usher in the flatter, matter vivo X300 Pro with vivo's excellent cameras and software, and you've got yourself a better phone than the X200 Pro.

ARM Mali-G1 Ultra MC12: High-end grafische chip voor smartphones met 12 mogelijke kernen. Gebaseerd op de "5th Gen" architectuur (opvolger van Valhall) inclusief Variable Rate Shading (VRS) en Ray Racing (2e generatie).

Deze grafische kaarten zouden alle huidige spellen moeten kunnen draaien, maar de meeste spellen zullen alleen met gemiddelde of lage detail instellingen en lage resoluties goed werken. Oudere of minder veeleisende spellen kunnen nog wel met goede grafische instellingen gespeeld worden.
