Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

Om de schermhelderheid te verlagen schakelen sommige laptops het backlight erg snel aan en uit. Dit gebeurt aan een dergelijk hoge frequentie dat het niet zichtbaar is voor het menselijk oog. Als de frequentie te laag is kunnen personen met gevoelige ogen geïrriteerd geraken, hoofdpijn krijgen en zelfs flickering waarnemen.
Screen flickering / PWM waargenomen 384.6 Hz ≤ 10 % helderheid instelling

Het backlight van het scherm flikkert aan 384.6 Hz (hoogstwaarschijnlijk met PWM - Pulse-Width Modulation) aan een helderheid van 10 % en lager. Boven deze helderheid zou er geen flickering / PWM mogen optreden.

De frequentie van 384.6 Hz is relatief hoog en de meeste mensen die gevoelig zijn aan flickering zouden dit dus niet mogen waarnemen of geïrriteerde ogen krijgen. Er zijn echter rapporten die beweren dat sommige mensen toch flickering met 500 Hz en hoger kunnen waarnemen: opgelet dus.

Ter vergelijking: 51 % van alle geteste toestellen maakten geen gebruik van PWM om de schermhelderheid te verlagen. Als het wel werd gebruikt, werd een gemiddelde van 9418 (minimum: 43 - maximum: 142900) Hz waargenomen.

Responstijd Scherm

De responstijden van het scherm tonen hoe snel het scherm in staat is om van één kleur naar de andere te veranderen. Trage responstijden kunnen aanleiding geven tot 'nabeelden' rond bewegende objecten of het scherm wazig maken (blur). Vooral spelers van snelle 3D-games hebben baat bij een scherm met snelle responstijden.

Het scherm vertoonde prima responstijden in onze tests maar is misschien wat te traag voor competitieve games.
Ter vergelijking: alle testtoestellen variëren van 0.8 (minimum) tot 240 (maximum) ms. » 26 % van alle toestellen zijn beter.
Dit betekent dat de gemeten responstijd beter is dan het gemiddelde (25 ms) van alle geteste toestellen.

De Redmi-telefoons van Xiaomi zijn voordelig - ze stellen voortdurend nieuwe normen in hun prijsklasse: de Remi 7A is beschikbaar voor ongeveer $100 (afhankelijk van de configuratie) en biedt functies die we meestal alleen zien in smartphones die het dubbele van de prijs zijn. De telefoon werkt bijvoorbeeld op een Snapdragon 439, een krachtige SoC die veel waar voor je geld biedt. De zeer lange batterijduur, de geweldige luidsprekers en de gaming-geschiktheid maken het geheel compleet. De camera maakt behoorlijke foto's, het scherm is helder en warmteontwikkeling is acceptabel onder belasting. De nieuwe kleurenopties geven de Xiaomi-telefoon een frisse, moderne uitstraling en de telefoon ligt comfortabel in de hand. Dankzij de snellaadfunctie wordt de smartphone ook snel opgeladen.

Dat is nogal een verzameling sterke punten voor zo'n betaalbaar apparaat en bijna geen enkele concurrent in deze prijsklasse kan het evenaren. De telefoon verslaat zelfs zijn voorganger met een langere batterijlevensduur en verbeterde prestaties. Het feit dat de Redmi A-modellen niet zijn uitgerust met een vingerafdruklezer is echter jammer, net als de onnauwkeurige GPS en de ietwat gedempte ootjes.

Als je op zoek bent naar een betaalbare smartphone en toch goede prestaties en een lange batterijduur wilt, is de Redmi 7A misschien de juiste telefoon voor jou.

We kunnen de Xiaomi Redmi 7A zeker aanbevelen. Zorg ervoor dat je de wereldwijde versie koopt van een betrouwbare verkoper, omdat je anders problemen zou kunnen ondervinden met de netadapter en de garantie.
