Makkelijk is het niet... De OnePlus 7 is niet langer de enige smartphone in deze generatie OnePlus smartphones, maar het model heeft nog steeds een plek in het hogere marktsegment. Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

Om de schermhelderheid te verlagen schakelen sommige laptops het backlight erg snel aan en uit. Dit gebeurt aan een dergelijk hoge frequentie dat het niet zichtbaar is voor het menselijk oog. Als de frequentie te laag is kunnen personen met gevoelige ogen geïrriteerd geraken, hoofdpijn krijgen en zelfs flickering waarnemen.
Screen flickering / PWM waargenomen 200 Hz

Het backlight van het scherm flikkert aan 200 Hz (hoogstwaarschijnlijk met PWM - Pulse-Width Modulation) .

De frequentie van 200 Hz is redelijk laag en de meeste mensen die gevoelig zijn aan flickering kunnen dit dus waarnemen of geïrriteerde ogen krijgen (gebruikmakend van de vermelde helderheid en lager).

Ter vergelijking: 51 % van alle geteste toestellen maakten geen gebruik van PWM om de schermhelderheid te verlagen. Als het wel werd gebruikt, werd een gemiddelde van 9429 (minimum: 43 - maximum: 142900) Hz waargenomen.

Responstijd Scherm

De responstijden van het scherm tonen hoe snel het scherm in staat is om van één kleur naar de andere te veranderen. Trage responstijden kunnen aanleiding geven tot 'nabeelden' rond bewegende objecten of het scherm wazig maken (blur). Vooral spelers van snelle 3D-games hebben baat bij een scherm met snelle responstijden.

Het scherm vertoonde erg snelle responstijden in onze tests en zou zeer geschikt moeten zijn voor snelle games.
Ter vergelijking: alle testtoestellen variëren van 0.8 (minimum) tot 240 (maximum) ms. » 4 % van alle toestellen zijn beter.
Dit betekent dat de gemeten responstijd beter is dan het gemiddelde (25.1 ms) van alle geteste toestellen.

De OnePlus 7 is wat behoudender dan de OnePlus 7 Pro: er lijkt weinig veranderd te zijn ten opzichte van zijn voorganger.

Zeker, de OnePlus 6T was al een erg goede smartphone en de opvolger biedt in vele opzichten zelfs nog wat meer: een iets langere batterijduur, een betere dual-camera setup, iets meer prestaties, aanzienlijk snellere opslag en stereo luidsprekers. Maar eigenaren van zijn voorganger zullen weinig toegevoegde waarde hebben bij dit model, omdat de verschillen simpelweg te klein zijn.

Minder spectaculair dan de OnePlus 7 Pro en wellicht daarom juist zo goed: de OnePlus 7 is een fantastische high-end smartphone.

Gebruikers die een beeldscherm met notch prima vinden en die zonder de prestige van een OnePlus 7 Pro kunnen, kunnen een paar honderd euro besparen en de OnePlus 7 aanschaffen. Er is geen verschil wat betreft de prestaties, maar je krijgt wel een iets minder flexibele camera.

De OnePlus 7 kan qua prestaties high-end smartphones bijbenen, maar de notch en dual-camera setup zijn al iets verouderd; de OnePlus 7 Pro is duidelijk het vlaggenschip als het aankomt op voorop lopen. Als je echter zoekt in de prijsklasse van de OnePlus 7 dan wordt het duidelijk dat je erg veel prestaties krijgt voor je geld.

Zelfs al ziet deze er niet zo betoverend uit als zijn Pro tegenhanger: wederom, de OnePlus 7 is een fantastische high-end smartphone die je zeker moet overwegen.
