Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

Om de schermhelderheid te verlagen schakelen sommige laptops het backlight erg snel aan en uit. Dit gebeurt aan een dergelijk hoge frequentie dat het niet zichtbaar is voor het menselijk oog. Als de frequentie te laag is kunnen personen met gevoelige ogen geïrriteerd geraken, hoofdpijn krijgen en zelfs flickering waarnemen.
Screen flickering / PWM waargenomen 367.6 Hz ≤ 99 % helderheid instelling

Het backlight van het scherm flikkert aan 367.6 Hz (hoogstwaarschijnlijk met PWM - Pulse-Width Modulation) aan een helderheid van 99 % en lager. Boven deze helderheid zou er geen flickering / PWM mogen optreden.

De frequentie van 367.6 Hz is relatief hoog en de meeste mensen die gevoelig zijn aan flickering zouden dit dus niet mogen waarnemen of geïrriteerde ogen krijgen. Er zijn echter rapporten die beweren dat sommige mensen toch flickering met 500 Hz en hoger kunnen waarnemen: opgelet dus.

Ter vergelijking: 51 % van alle geteste toestellen maakten geen gebruik van PWM om de schermhelderheid te verlagen. Als het wel werd gebruikt, werd een gemiddelde van 17901 (minimum: 5 - maximum: 2500000) Hz waargenomen.

Responstijd Scherm

De responstijden van het scherm tonen hoe snel het scherm in staat is om van één kleur naar de andere te veranderen. Trage responstijden kunnen aanleiding geven tot 'nabeelden' rond bewegende objecten of het scherm wazig maken (blur). Vooral spelers van snelle 3D-games hebben baat bij een scherm met snelle responstijden.

Dit betekent dat de gemeten responstijd beter is dan het gemiddelde (24.6 ms) van alle geteste toestellen.

De X50 Pro is een zeer esthetisch aantrekkelijke smartphone en het matte, meerlagige ontwerp van de achterkant ziet er bijzonder mooi uit. Het geweldige uiterlijk wordt echter aangetast door de zeer grote punch-hole cameramodule. Vanwege de kwaliteit van ultragroothoek-selfies is de bruikbaarheid van de tweede lens aan de voorkant in het geding en had een subtielere opening in het scherm een ​​elegantere oplossing kunnen zijn. Vergelijkbaar met de groothoekoptiek aan de voorkant, stelt de ultragroothoekmodule aan de achterkant teleur en kan deze qua kwaliteit niet tippen aan die van concurrerende smartphones. Hetzelfde geldt voor de telelens en, in mindere mate, de hoofdcamera. Voor 750 euro verdienen kopers meer als het gaat om de algehele kwaliteit van de camera's.

Hoewel er veel goed gaat bij de Realme X50 Pro-smartphone, is de adviesprijs van de Chinese fabrikant te hoog vanwege de sterke concurrentie.

Met goede stereoluidsprekers, een prachtig 90 Hz OLED-paneel en krachtige hardware, die zijn eigen nadelen heeft in de vorm van sporadische prestatiedips die niet voorkomen bij high-end alternatieven, is de X50 Pro nog steeds een goede telefoon.
