Two things about the Special Edition annoyed me. The touchpad was especially sensitive to taps--so much so, that I disabled the feature. Some might like the heightened level of sensitivity but not me. The Inspiron 13, like other 2-in-1 designs, moves the power button to the side and makes it as tiny as can be. I’m of the belief that power buttons should be obvious, large, and situated on the keyboard deck. End of story.

From the superb build quality, 360-degree touchscreen display and surprisingly fast performance, it’s a great little laptop for using both at home and in the office, and its smaller form factor makes it a much more manageable hybrid than its big brother, the Inspiron 15 5668. De Dell Inspiron 13 7370 is een stuk goedkoper dan de XPS 13, terwijl je grotendeels dezelfde hardware krijgt. Hij is een stukje dikker en zwaarder, maar de metalen behuizing is ook erg stevig en biedt veel aansluitingen. Het scherm heeft een glanzende afwerking en daar moet je van houden, maar het hoge contrast is fraai. Helaas heeft Dell bezuinigd op de accu; die heeft een lage capaciteit en daardoor is de accuduur ondermaats. Hoewel de Inspiron verder geen grote nadelen heeft, doet de matige accu wat ons betreft flink afbreuk aan een verder prima laptop.

If you are willing to put up with short battery life, then we’d urge you to spend $50 on the entry-level Inspiron 13 7000 and its all-aluminum enclosure. There are, however, better options than either of Dell’s 13-inch convertibles. Each costs considerably more, but we like the HP Spectre x360 13 and the Lenovo Yoga 920 best among 13-inch 2-in-1 convertibles. De nieuwe cabriolet van Dell is een bittere teleurstelling, althans in de configuratie die we hebben getest. Het is zelfs nog frustrerender dat het apparaat de potentie heeft om een geweldige laptop te zijn, maar het is in de steek gelaten door verschillende essentiële tekortkomingen. Wij raden u echter aan verder te lezen, aangezien goedkopere modellen de gebieden kunnen verbeteren waarin deze laptop teleurstelt.

Dell: Dell is een Amerikaanse fabrikant (gevestigd in Texas) van computerhardware, opgericht in 1984 en is een van de grootste internationale fabrikanten, zowel qua marktaandeel als qua notebookmodellen. De productlijn omvat desktops, notebooks, opslagsystemen, monitors, servers, printers, consumentenelektronica en randapparatuur. Dell biedt laptops die geschikt zijn voor verschillende toepassingen, zoals zakelijke laptops, gaming laptops, ultra portables en werkstations. De zakelijke laptops uit de Latitude en Precision series van Dell zijn een optie voor professionele gebruikers en bedrijven.

In 2023 had Dell een marktaandeel van ongeveer 17% in de wereldwijde verkoop van pc's en stond daarmee op de derde plaats, na Lenovo en HP.

Voor gameliefhebbers is er Dell's Alienware merk voor gaming notebooks.

Alleen oudere games kunnen vloeiend draaien met deze grafische chips (als ze niet veeleisend zijn). Gedeeld geheugen grafische cores in deze categorie hebben het voordeel van minder warmte-ontwikkeling en langere batterijlooptijd. Voor kantoor, internet, beeldcorrectie- en videomonteringswerk zijn deze grafische chips nog steeds bruikbaar zonder enige beperkingen.

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330: Lager geklokte Radeon 4530 met een stroomverbruik van 7 Watt (volgens AMD). Ondersteund DirectX 10.1 en Avivo HD voor HD video versnelling.

ATI Radeon HD 4225:

De meeste niet-veeleisende huidige games kunnen vloeiend draaien. Wees voorbereid op verminderde grafische weergave door lage detailinstellingen en lage resoluties. Toch verschaffen deze kaarten voldoende prestatie voor kantoor taken en video bekijken (niet voor HD videos).

Intel HD Graphics 4400: ULV geïntegreerde grafische GPU (GT2) met 20 EU's die je aantreft op sommige Haswell CPU modellen.

Intel HD Graphics 5500:

Geïntegreerde grafische kaart (GT2) in de Core processors van de Broadwell U-serie (15 W TDP).

Deze grafische kaarten zouden alle huidige spellen moeten kunnen draaien, maar de meeste spellen zullen alleen met gemiddelde of lage detail instellingen en lage resoluties goed werken. Oudere of minder veeleisende spellen kunnen nog wel met goede grafische instellingen gespeeld worden.

Intel HD Graphics 520:

Geïntegreerde GPU (GT2) met 24 EU's die aangetroffen wordt in sommige Skylake-CPU's (15-Watt ULV-versies).

Intel HD Graphics 620:

Geïntegreerde GPU (GT2) te vinden op sommige Kaby-Lake CPU modellen (ULV 15 W serie).

Intel UHD Graphics 620:

Geïntegreerde GPU (GT2, 24 EU's) die je terugvindt in sommige CPU-modellen van de Kaby Lake-refresh (15-Watt ULV-serie). Technisch identiek aan de vorige Kaby Lake-GPU genaamd HD Graphics 620.

Intel Core 2 Duo: Dit is de Core Duo, de opvolger van de Core Solo met een langere pipeline en 5-20% meer snelheid zonder een hoger stroomverbruik. Als een aanvulling op het Core Duo ontwerp zit er een vierde decoder op, een versterkte SSE-unit en een extra reken-, logische unit (ALU).
De Core 2 Duo voor laptops is identiek aan de desktop Core 2 Duo processors maar de notebook-processors werken met een lagere spanning en een lagere Frontside bus klok. De prestatie van gelijk-geklokte notebooks is 20-25% lager dan Desktop PCs vanwege de lagere Frontside bus klok en de langzamere harde schijf.

T6500: Instap niveau Penryn dual-core CPU met een level 2 cache van 2MB en een FSB van 800 MHz. Vergelijkbaar met de 6570 maar zonder VT-x.

4010U: Haswell-gebaseerde low-voltage dual-core processor geklokt aan 1.7 GHz zonder ondersteuning voor Turbo Boost. Komt gepaard met een geïntegreerde HD Graphics 4400 en een dual-channel DDR3 geheugen-controller.

5200U:

Broadwell-gebaseerde ULV dual-core-CPU voor notebooks en ultrabooks. De chip beschikt over een geïntegreerde HD Graphics 5500 GPU en is gefabriceerd in 14 nm.

i5-8550U:

Zuinige quad-core-processor gebaseerd op Kaby-Lake-refresh. De vier cores zijn geklokt aan 1.8 tot 4 GHz (Turbo Boost) en ondersteunen HyperThreading. De geïntegreerde GPU is geklokt aan 300 tot 1150 MHz. De SoC is gefabriceerd in een 14nm+ FinFET-proces.
