Responstijd Scherm

De responstijden van het scherm tonen hoe snel het scherm in staat is om van één kleur naar de andere te veranderen. Trage responstijden kunnen aanleiding geven tot 'nabeelden' rond bewegende objecten of het scherm wazig maken (blur). Vooral spelers van snelle 3D-games hebben baat bij een scherm met snelle responstijden.

Het scherm vertoonde snelle responstijden in onze tests en zou geschikt moeten zijn voor games.
Ter vergelijking: alle testtoestellen variëren van 0.8 (minimum) tot 240 (maximum) ms. » 9 % van alle toestellen zijn beter.
Dit betekent dat de gemeten responstijd beter is dan het gemiddelde (24.8 ms) van alle geteste toestellen.

Het scherm vertoonde prima responstijden in onze tests maar is misschien wat te traag voor competitieve games.
Ter vergelijking: alle testtoestellen variëren van 0.9 (minimum) tot 636 (maximum) ms. » 10 % van alle toestellen zijn beter.
Dit betekent dat de gemeten responstijd beter is dan het gemiddelde (39.3 ms) van alle geteste toestellen.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

Om de schermhelderheid te verlagen schakelen sommige laptops het backlight erg snel aan en uit. Dit gebeurt aan een dergelijk hoge frequentie dat het niet zichtbaar is voor het menselijk oog. Als de frequentie te laag is kunnen personen met gevoelige ogen geïrriteerd geraken, hoofdpijn krijgen en zelfs flickering waarnemen.
Screen flickering / PWM niet waargenomen

Ter vergelijking: 50 % van alle geteste toestellen maakten geen gebruik van PWM om de schermhelderheid te verlagen. Als het wel werd gebruikt, werd een gemiddelde van 18215 (minimum: 5 - maximum: 2500000) Hz waargenomen.

MSI heeft de belangrijkste klachten afgehandeld en meer stabiliteit en onderhoudsopties aan de compacte behuizing gegeven. MSI verdient ook lof voor de up-to-date verbindingsapparatuur (Thunderbolt 3), het snelle en contrastrijke 300-Hz paneel en de enorme batterij, hoewel deze niet helemaal in staat is om zijn potentieel te benutten.

We vinden de keuze van de processor wat moeilijk te begrijpen. Terwijl de Core i9-10980HK natuurlijk uit marketingoogpunt en qua winst natuurlijk erg aantrekkelijk is, zouden we deze optie in de eerste plaats niet aanbieden aangezien de klant meer met de nadelen (zeer hoge temperatuur- en geluidsontwikkeling) te maken heeft dan met de voordelen (hoger prestatiepotentieel). Daarnaast is de notebook over het algemeen ontworpen voor mobiliteit, niet voor pure rekenkracht.
