Great performance, decent battery life, good keyboard and trackpad, and a massive screen – just that the screen quality itself is kinda subpar. If you’re okay with the screen, then I think this is an okay laptop. However, I’d like to see a price drop.

EN→NLAt RM2,999 – the ASUS Vivobook 16X certainly does not ask a lot of money for good amounts of CPU performance, but some corners are cut so you should not ask too much out of it. I’d say the best use case would fall under office work – those who do mostly typing and data entry that needs a bigger screen will benefit a lot from this machine with a relatively low price point. If you need a better content watching experience though, go for the Vivobook 15X OLED instead.

EN→NLWhen you want a laptop that has the performance of a big gaming machine, you need to make sacrifices. Especially if you want it to be affordable. Well, this is exactly the case with the Vivobook 16X (M1603). Its IPS panel has a WUXGA resolution, 16:10 aspect ratio, comfortable viewing angles, and a good contrast ratio. Its backlight doesn’t use PWM for brightness adjustment, but on the other hand, the color coverage is only 50% of the sRGB color gamut. Although the laptop is made out of plastic, it has one strong feature when it comes to the body – its coating. ASUS has covered all body panels with an antimicrobial layer, which attracts all microbes and then kills them off. Quite sadistic, but also beneficial. In addition to that, the port selection is robbed of an SD card reader, while the USB Type-C port can only be used for data transfers. Also, some of the memory (8GB to be precise) has been soldered to the motherboard. Further expansions are possible via the single SODIMM slot. In terms of battery, you get between 8 and 10 hours on a single charge, depending on your activities – watching videos, or browsing the Web. Using more demanding software, however, will drain it significantly more quickly, due to the power-hungry processor. Speaking of which, it is really powerful. Even though it is a couple of generations old, one can still reap the benefits of AMD’s bold design back in the day. So, if you are looking for a machine that is capable of delivering all you need, at a low price, and still allows you to play light games – get the Vivobook 16X (M1603). Don’t miss to check out the OLED version of this device.

The Vivobook 16 (X1605) is a pretty decent machine with only a few minor flaws that can’t be ignored, but at the same time won’t be dealbreakers for the majority of you. This includes the lack of an SD card reader and the fact that the only USB Type-C port can only be used for data transfer. On the bright side, the situation on the inside looks a bit better with one SODIMM slot for memory expansion and one M.2 PCIe x4 slot for Gen 3 or Gen 4 SSDs. The battery life is great if you’re browsing the Web – 10 hours and 30 minutes, but it is not fantastic if you are watching videos – 5 hours and 30 minutes. Unfortunately, we are not aware what is the reason for the huge difference. Not in last place, its Antibacterial Guard limits the growth and build-up of bacteria on the plastic surface of the notebook. This feature is tested against the ISO 22196 standard, according to ASUS. Now, if you are willing to get a laptop at this price point, you might need to settle for plastic as a building material.

For $300 more, the Acer Swift Edge offers a 16-inch, 16:10 OLED display inside a slim yet rigid magnesium-aluminum alloy chassis. It also regularly goes on sale at Costco for less than $1,000. Or if you don't mind a smaller display, consider the HP Pavilion Plus 14, which comes in many configurations at more affordable prices.

Helaas, ik had meer verwacht van een laptop met deze specs, en voor deze prijs. Het 16 inch scherm in de 16:10 verhouding levert je veel screen-estate op en het toetsenbord typt echt heerlijk. De flinke videokaart maakt het gebruik van bijvoorbeeld Photoshop een feestje. Toch zou ik deze laptop niet snel aanbevelen. De notebook is denk ik voor een gamer die online speelt perfect te gebruiken, snelle, heldere display op de laptop met scherp beeld/contrast. Een groot touchpad et heldere klik en geïntegreerde vinger afdruk scanner voor ontgrendeling. Wat ik wel handig vind zeker als het donker wordt en je vergeet het licht aan te doen is de gearceerde enter knop. Nadeel vind ik wel het smalle keypad gedeelte, die knoppen staan dicht op elkaar en zijn qua grootte kleiner dan de tekst buttons. Ook op de accu spelen/werken is geen probleem gemiddeld doe je 6 uur op de accu en binnen 50 minuten is hij bijna weer op 100 % geladen. Is een aanrader.

Bij de aller eerste opstart en de configuratie kom je er niet omheen om perse een microsoft account te gebruiken om verder te komen in de installatie, wat ik persoonlijk erg vervelend vind. Dit is na de installatie wel weer om te schakelen naar een lokale pc, maar toch vervelend dat het niet direct kan. Het beeld zelf is perfect, helder beeld, ook in de zon. Een lege accu is binnen een half uurtje 100% en daar kun je met wat standaard internetten en word gebruik, prima een dag mee doen. vingerprint in het muispad werkt erg prettig, reageert snel goed en je bent makkelijk ingelogd.De snelheid van de laptop zelf is heel goed, zware videobewerking programma's, adobe photoshop en premiere pro ondervinden geen vertragingen of haperingen. voor deze prijs had ik iets meer poorten verwacht (hdmi, meerdere usb-c, meer usb) maar verder is het een prima laptop

Eindoordeel: Er is geen enkele andere laptop die deze performance levert in CPU intensieve applicaties voor deze prijs (€1650 in de aanbieding en €1900 normaal) Ondanks de nadelen heeft het een geweldige kosten - performance verhouding voor zware zakelijke toepassingen en is het prima deal voor gaming. De Asus VivoBook K3605VV-MX118W Creator Laptop is aangekocht om op te werken en op te trainen, waarbij veel Virtual Machines(VMs) tegelijk draaien, waarvoor een Core i9 met 32GB en 1TB SSD noodzakelijk is. Vooral forensisch onderzoek van geheugen kost veel rekenkracht en een Core i7-1255U met 16GB RAM voldeed niet meer.

Op papier mooie specificaties maar in de praktijk valt het tegen. Over het scherm kunnen we kort zijn: uitmuntende kwaliteit. De plastic behuizing zit stevig in elkaar en heeft een laag gewicht maar heeft scherpe randen op de plek waar je het niet wilt hebben: bij de polzen. Het toetsenbord biedt voldoende travel en typt lekker weg ook de trackpad is fijn om mee te werken. De speakers zijn voldoende en klinken neutraal. Op technisch vlak weet de Vivobook niet te overtuigen en dat verraadt zich in de 120W adapter. Zowel de i9 en RTX4060 hebben een PL zo rond de 50W waardoor het laagvliegers zijn in de benchmarks. Qua koeling weet de laptop ook niet te overtuigen de i9 processor wordt ondanks de PL erg heet. Voor de prijs normaal/1899 euro - aanbieding/1649 euro krijg je een fantastisch OLED scherm maar de rest van de HW is ondermaats.

However, that display isn’t especially vibrant or accurate, which robs the laptop of some of its multimedia potential. What’s more, a puny battery, just the one USB-C port, and a rather cheap-feeling finish saps a fair amount of that initial full-sized laptop pizazz. Heavy discounting means that anyone specifically in the market for the largest laptop screen possible at the lowest price possible will definitely want to include the Vivobook 16 in their calculations. For the vast majority of people, however, you can get a better-balanced laptop package elsewhere.

It won’t buckle under the virtual weight of too much admin work. This laptop does start at £600 for the Intel Core i5 version, and it might be a worthy compromise for those looking for straightforward productivity use. With lacklustre speakers and a hinge that stops short of helping it become a good entertainment companion, however, there are just a few too many compromises here to truly recommend it at this price point. The 16GB RAM is this model’s biggest strength in terms of raw power but competing devices are hard to ignore with the HP Pavilion SE 14 providing a more modern processor for less money as well as a better speaker system.

When you add the 1200p display in the mix, this results in more than 16 hours of Web browsing on a single charge. Not bad for a 42Wh battery! Of course, if you get a laptop with a Zen 4 processor and a 3.2K OLED display, perhaps the battery life could be shorter. This machine is offered with a plethora of processor options. This allows you to pick the right chip for your needs. For casual office or home usage, even the 6-core Ryzen 5 5625U should be fine, if you aren’t too pretentious. It’s not a bad idea to choose a machine with dual-channel memory that will boost the overall performance. On the other side, this notebook can be transformed into a productivity beast with an 8-core Zen 4 CPU like the Ryzen 9 7940HS.

Alles ging naar wens, snelle installatie, snelle koppeling met MS365 Business. Werkt erg snel en de wifi snelheden zijn ook erg goed. De ProArt is een goede aanvulling met de Nvidia Studio Drivers. ASUS krijgt dus 5 sterren. Prijs/kwaliteit is vrijwel optimaal. Super mooi 16" scherm. Laptop is compact en het scherm kan je helemaal (180 graden) open klappen. Mooi hoge verversing van 120 hertz i.p.v. 60 hertz. De Windows 11 23H2 upgrade ging naadloos. Alles ging naar wens, snelle installatie, snelle koppeling met MS365 Business. Werkt erg snel en de wifi snelheden zijn ook erg goed. De ProArt is een goede aanvulling met de Nvidia Studio Drivers. ASUS krijgt dus 5 sterren. Prijs/kwaliteit is vrijwel optimaal.

EN→NLThe ASUS Vivobook 16X OLED (K3604) has a lot of potential to be a true blockbuster in its class but the device isn’t perfect. Let’s start with the positives – the 16:10 4K (3840 x 2400p) OLED display (Samsung AMOLED ATNA60YV02-0 (SDC415D) is just great. It boasts 100% sRGB and DCI-P3 coverage alongside good out-of-the-box color accuracy. The HDR panel amazes with quick pixel response times and infinite contrast ratio. The display flicker here isn’t an issue since there is a ”Flicker-Free Dimming” function in the MyASUS software. The overall performance of the laptop is good. The machine feels snappy – our laptop is configured with the Core i7-1360P which is the top CPU option for the series. This chip is a serious challenge for the basic-looking cooling solution. Interestingly, the CPU can maintain decently high frequencies in prolonged periods of 100% stress while the clocks in short loads are so-so.

Asus: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. is een grote Taiwanese fabrikant van computerhardware gevestigd in Taipei, opgericht in 1989. Onder de merknaam Asus produceert het bedrijf een breed scala aan producten, waaronder laptops, desktops, moederborden, grafische kaarten, monitoren, smartphones en netwerkapparatuur, complete systemen en pc-onderdelen voor eindgebruikers.
Onder de merknaam ROG (Republic of Gamers) produceert ASUS gaming laptops die bij gamers bekend staan om hun krachtige specificaties, speciale grafische kaarten, schermen met hoge verversingssnelheid en geavanceerde koelsystemen.
Naast gaming wordt een breed scala aan notebooks aangeboden voor verschillende behoeften en budgetten, van ultraslanke en lichtgewicht ultrabooks tot veelzijdige 2-in-1 convertibles en budgetvriendelijke opties. In 2023 had Asus wereldwijd een marktaandeel van 7% op de pc-markt.
De klanttevredenheid over ASUS-notebooks heeft betrekking op de prestaties, de functies en de goede prijs-prestatieverhouding van ASUS-notebooks. Zoals bij elk merk zijn er echter af en toe meldingen van problemen zoals oververhitting, drivercompatibiliteit of problemen met de bouwkwaliteit.
Deze grafische kaarten zouden alle huidige spellen moeten kunnen draaien, maar de meeste spellen zullen alleen met gemiddelde of lage detail instellingen en lage resoluties goed werken. Oudere of minder veeleisende spellen kunnen nog wel met goede grafische instellingen gespeeld worden.

Deze middenklasse grafische kaarten kunnen alle huidige spellen vloeiend spelen. Veeleisende spellen kunnen alleen met gemiddelde detail instellingen gespeeld worden.

Grafische kaart uit het middensegment voor laptops gebaseerd op de Ada Lovelace-architectuur. Biedt 6 GB GDDR6 (96 bit) en is configureerbaar met een TGP van 35 - 115 W (+ Dynamic Boost).
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 4GB Laptop GPU:

Grafische kaart voor laptops uit het middensegment, gebaseerd op de Turing-architectuur, met raytracing-functies en 2.048 shaders (meer dan een RTX 2060), maar slechts een kleine 64-bits geheugenbus.
Deze grafische kaarten zouden de meeste moderne spellen op een hoge resolutie en hoge details moeten kunnen draaien (enkele uitzonderingen zijn mogelijk).

Intel Alder Lake-P:
i3-1220P: Een lagere middenklasse 28 W CPU uit de Alder Lake familie met 2 prestatie-kernen en 8 efficiënte kernen, samen met de 64 EU UHD Graphics GPU, een Iris Xe in alles behalve naam. Core i3-1220P draait op 1,1 GHz tot 4,4 GHz. Deze SoC is ontworpen voor gebruik in ultralichte, ultradunne (maar passief gekoelde) laptops. De prestatiecores van de i3 hebben de allesbepalende thread-doubling Hyper-Threading-technologie voor een totaal van 12 threads.
i7-12650H:
Op Alder Lake gebaseerde mobiele CPU met 6 prestatiekernen en 4 efficiencykernen. De prestatiekernen bieden hyper threading, wat leidt tot 16 verwerkbare threads. De processor draait op frequenties van 1,7 tot 4,7 GHz en ondersteunt vPro.

Mobiele Octa-Core APU met Zen 3+ cores geklokt op 3,2 tot 4,7 GHz en een RDNA2 grafische adapter met 12 CU's geklokt op maximaal 2.200 MHz.
