De Asus Zenbook A14 UX3407NA is een 14-inch ultradraagbare Windows-laptop gebouwd rond Qualcomm's Snapdragon X2 Elite X2E-88-100 processor. Recensenten benadrukken het zeer lage gewicht van 990 g, het slanke chassis, de sterke CPU-prestaties en het indrukwekkende uithoudingsvermogen van de 70 Wh batterij. De laptop heeft 32 GB geheugen, Qualcomm Adreno X2-90 grafische voorzieningen, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, USB4 poorten, HDMI en een glanzend OLED-scherm. Het 1920 x 1200 60 Hz scherm wordt als goed beschouwd, maar is niet toonaangevend voor de vraagprijs, vooral zonder aanraakondersteuning. Het apparaat krijgt een totale waardering van ongeveer 86,9%, waarbij verschillende verkooppunten het prijzen als een van de beste compacte laptops die verkrijgbaar zijn. De hogere prijs en de resterende beperkingen van de Snapdragon-compatibiliteit maken de waarde echter minder overtuigend dan het ontwerp en de prestaties.

EN→NLWhen we reviewed the first Snapdragon A14 back in February 2025, it cost £1,099. The new model is £500 more, and for the extra you get more power, much longer battery life, improved wireless communications and better speakers. But you don’t get a sharper screen or touch compatibility, both improvements that, I think, the increase in price demands. I’m not for a moment arguing that the new A14 isn’t the state of the compact laptop art. It is. Everything about it is excellent or borderline, and it’s certainly a five-star product. It’s just that I’m not wholly convinced that the improvements quite match the price jump.

EN→NLThe 2026 refresh of the Asus Zenbook A14 brings compeling Snapdragon X2 Elite hardware to a lightweight 14-inch chassis that weighs about 1 kilo. It's a solid performer when needed, especially on the CPU side, and it can run quietly, cooly and efficiently when that's required instead. But the Elite hardware is expensive, and push this Zenbook to a level where many might find it difficult to justify. Hopefully a more affordable mid-specced variation will be available as well later in the year.

EN→NLAs the Asus Zenbook A14 was put on the right track to take on the MacBook Air last year, this year’s A14 and A16 march forward when it comes to performance, but while the A16 shows up strongly with pro level performance in a skinny body, the A14 takes a step back in value for money. For great ultra-portable all-rounders, Apple stays, and if you’re loyal to Microsoft’s OS and want that same experience, the Zenbook A14 is a good (if expensive) alternative. Meanwhile, the A16 sets a new precedent for a thin and light pro machine that bridges the gap between MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, but the stamina suffers because of it. And with adjusted pricing showing the gap widening in bang for buck between Apple and Asus, what was a shoe-in for two of my favorite systems of the year has left me feeling indifferent.

EN→NLThe Asus Zenbook A14 (2026) is a beefy and super light Windows laptop that impresses with its potent internals from a new chip, immense endurance and a stylish look. The needle has moved a lot in price against the old model, though, and a 1920×1200 screen for the price feels a little off. Against the older Asus Zenbook A14, you’re getting a lot more grunt and a little more in the way of battery life, although for £500 more in terms of retail price. The Acer Swift 16 AI (2026) provides similar grunt with an Intel Panther Lake chip, plus a larger and higher-res OLED screen (although at the expense of 12 hours of runtime) for a similar outlay, while the Acer Swift Edge 14 AI has a higher-res OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and similar computing power for a lower price tag. Don’t get me wrong, the Asus Zenbook A14 (2026) is a lovely laptop, and a lot of it is in part due to the Snapdragon X2 Elite chip inside, but rising costs mean it suffers the same price-driven criticism as the Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro. EN→NLAll in all, the Zenbook A16 is a rather interesting ultra-light laptop with an excellent display, solid inputs and IO, and impressive power at its size. But it’s still a Snapdragon laptop with its quirks and software limitations, which buyers are going to struggle to adopt.

Qualcomm X2-90: Snelle geïntegreerde grafische kaart in de snelste Snapdragon X2 Elite (Extreme) SoC's met een kloksnelheid tot 1850 MHz.
Deze grafische kaarten zouden alle huidige spellen moeten kunnen draaien, maar de meeste spellen zullen alleen met gemiddelde of lage detail instellingen en lage resoluties goed werken. Oudere of minder veeleisende spellen kunnen nog wel met goede grafische instellingen gespeeld worden.

X2E-88-100: De X2 Elite X2E-88-100 is de op één na snelste variant van de X2 laptop SoC's en biedt alle 18 CPU-kernen verdeeld in 12 primaire kernen met maximaal 4,7 GHz (tot dual-core, 4 GHz alle kernen) en 6 prestatiekernen met maximaal 3,4 GHz. Samen heeft het CPU-gedeelte toegang tot 53 MB cachegeheugen. De SoC bevat ook een krachtige X2-90 GPU met 1,7 GHz, een NPU met maximaal 80 TOPS (INT8), LPDDR5x-9523 geheugencontroller met 128 bit en 152 GB/s bandbreedte en de Spectra ISP voor dubbele camera's tot 36 MP.
