The MSI Prestige 14 hands-on laptop review.

MSI heeft de Core i7-10710U perfect ingezet in de Prestige 14. De hexa-core Comet Lake U-serie processor kan tot 12 threads tegelijk verwerken, terwijl het stroomverbruik beperkt blijft tot 30 watt. Dit is nog indrukwekkende in de Prestige 14 die slechts 16mm hoog is, wat maar net iets hoger is dan de meeste andere dunne notebooks waarmee we vergelijken.

De Prestige 14 ziet er ook fraai uit, met een elegante aluminium behuizing die subtiel genoeg is om thuis te zijn op kantoor of bij klanten. De GeForce GTX 1650 Max-Q is tot op zeker niveau ook geschikt voor gamen, maar de Prestige 14 past het beste bij content creators die onderweg voldoende prestaties nodig hebben.

Al uit deze preview verwachten we dat de Prestige 14 een grote uitdager wordt voor de beste 14-inch notebooks van dit moment. Niet in de laatste plaats vanwege de krachtige CPU en GPU, maar ook door het uitstekende 4K beeldscherm. Het beeldscherm is indrukwekkend helder en de sRGB-dekking en matte afwerking maken dit tot een van de beste beeldschermen van dit moment.

Wel moet je in het achterhoofd houden dat deze conclusie een preview betreft van een pre-release versie van de Prestige 14. We zullen een update uitbrengen zodra we een productiemodel ontvangen.
