Ik heb heel veel plezier met de OPPO Find X9 Pro gehad. Het toestel gaf me een nerdy gevoel van vreugde die ik al lang niet gevoeld had bij een smartphone. De software waarin je veel kan aanpassen, zonder dat het druk of onnodig zwaar is, zorgde hiervoor alsmede de goede camera’s, de extra knoppen en het prachtige scherm. Het klapstuk is echter de 7.500 mAh accu. Deze monsteraccu biedt de oplossing voor een daadwerkelijk bestaand probleem: het dagelijks moeten opladen van je smartphone. Er zijn natuurlijk smartphones op de markt waarmee je anderhalve dag of zelfs misschien twee dagen haalt, de Find X9 Pro plakt hier echter een extra dag aan vast. Kortom: een indrukwekkende revolutie waar we echt iets aan hebben! Perfect is de X9 Pro niet. Qua snelheid zijn er snellere telefoons op de markt en ook het updatebeleid is met vijf jaar niet het beste van het beste.

Toch lijkt het ons niet voor iedereen de slimste koop. Zeker omdat de reguliere Find X9 op veel belangrijke punten de Pro zo goed als evenaart. Ook de toptoestellen van Oppo’s zustermerken, zoals de Realme GT 8 Pro leveren vrijwel gelijke prestaties, voor veel lagere prijzen. Het is dus niet zozeer dat de Find X8 Pro geen toptoestel is, in tegendeel.

I think the price tag is a bit hefty since it is essentially a lens that is only usable on the OPPO Find X9 Pro and nothing else (at least for now). Early birds can get it for RM799 only, which is still a bit hefty.

I’m pretty comfortable saying it’s the best model currently sold in the UK, but globally, the Vivo X300 Pro is a hot contender, as is Oppo’s own Find X8 Ultra. It’s left me a bit confused as to why both exist, and if there has to be a non-Pro, why it’s not significantly cheaper with a few more compromises? It’s to the point where – having used both – despite some of the features being slightly better on the Pro version, I’d rather save a little money and get largely the same device. I can live without a dedicated camera button or the slightly better zoom camera for a lighter, smaller device with pretty much all the same features.

Oppo:

Deze grafische kaarten zouden alle huidige spellen moeten kunnen draaien, maar de meeste spellen zullen alleen met gemiddelde of lage detail instellingen en lage resoluties goed werken. Oudere of minder veeleisende spellen kunnen nog wel met goede grafische instellingen gespeeld worden.

ARM Mali-G1 Ultra MC12: High-end grafische chip voor smartphones met 12 mogelijke kernen. Gebaseerd op de "5th Gen" architectuur (opvolger van Valhall) inclusief Variable Rate Shading (VRS) en Ray Racing (2e generatie).

Mediatek Dimensity 9000:

Dimensity 9500: Een vlaggenschipprocessor (SoC) voor dure Android telefoons en tablets. Maakt gebruik van drie CPU-clusters gebaseerd op een snelle ARM C1-Ultra core met een snelheid tot 4,2 GHz, drie C1-Premium cores met een snelheid tot 3,5 GHz en vier kleine C1-Pro cores met een snelheid tot 2,7 GHz. Samen hebben de kernen toegang tot 16 MB L3-cache en 10 MB SLC. De chip kan geheugen aansturen via LPDDR5X-10667.
