If you’re looking for a big laptop to carry around when you travel, but don’t need it to handle anything too demanding, the Gram 17 is a solid choice. But most people would be better served by a more powerful 15-inch notebook.

You'll have to want the big screen as well. On top of that, you get a real keyboard, a full 15W quad-core Core i7, 16GB RAM, and a 512GB SSD. There's not much else that you can ask for in a portable PC that's just so light. At $1,699.99, the LG gram 17 is definitely a buy, if this sounds like the type of PC that you're looking for.

Het is met 999 gram een erg lichte laptop, die bovendien een zeer lange accuduur heeft, een van de langste die we tot nu toe hebben gemeten. De behuizing is voldoende stevig, de werkomgeving is prettig en er zitten ruim voldoende aansluitingen op het apparaat. Bedenk wel dat de Gram 14 niet is gericht op maximale systeemprestaties, dus voor zware contentcreation-taken kun je beter een andere laptop overwegen. Het scherm heeft een fijne verhouding, maar mist een goede afstelling.

De LG Gram is een absoluut lichtgewicht monster wat voor zakelijk (MKB) gebruik uitstekend geschikt is, ook voor school zou het een uitermate geschikte laptop zijn. Zeker als je kijkt naar specs i.c.m. gewicht en design is 't een absolute aanrader. Zelfs voor een 17 inch variant met een lekker groot scherm weegt de laptop in verhouding niets. Je zult hier en daar wat consessies moeten doen en eerst even aan de slag moeten met de overbodige software die je nooit gaat gebruiken maar dan heb je wel een erg fijne laptop die vrij breed inzetbaar kan zijn.

The power of a mid-tier 13th Gen Intel CPU and GeForce RTX 3050 GPU allow you to play a wide variety of games on this laptop too, though you'll need to dial down the settings if you want to achieve the high framerates that 144Hz display can deliver. Still, there are some drawbacks that keep me from recommending this laptop without reservation. The power cable is way too short, for one, which feels especially frustrating when the rest of the laptop's design is so good. The LG Gram 17 Pro's performance is also a little underwhelming compared to competitors of similar size and price. The configuration of Dell XPS 17 we tested last year, for example, can be yours right now for roughly the same price ($1,999) and it offers better performance (thanks to a more powerful CPU and more RAM) than the Gram 17 Pro. However, Dell's laptop has a lower-resolution screen, a lower-quality webcam and weighs nearly 2 pounds more. If you like macOS, Apple's 16-inch MacBook Pro is also a compelling alternative. While it costs more ($2,499 to start) and is heavier than the LG Gram 17 Pro, with a smaller screen, Apple's 16-inch Pro is much speedier, offers better battery life and better speakers. However, you won't be able to play as many PC games on the MacBook Pro unless you want to deal with the hassle of getting Windows-only games running in macOS. But for my money, you can't do better than the LG Gram 17 Pro if you want a discreet 17-inch Windows ultraportable that can do a bit of everything (work, gaming, content creation) you can take pretty much anywhere.

LG: LG Electronics Inc. is een dochteronderneming van LG Group. Het is een Zuid-Koreaans bedrijf en werd opgericht als Goldstar Co, Ltd in 1958. De groep biedt producten aan op het gebied van informatietechnologie, consumentenelektronica en mobiele communicatie, en huishoudelijke apparaten. LG Electronics is de op twee na grootste fabrikant van huishoudelijke apparaten ter wereld. Als fabrikant van notebooks werd LG pas in 2005 bekend bij een breder publiek op de Duitstalige markt. Na een paar jaar trok LG zich grotendeels terug uit de laptopsector. Het productassortiment omvat OLED, LED/LCD en plasma TV's, thuisbioscoopsystemen, Blu-ray spelers en audio- en videospelers.
Deze grafische kaarten zouden alle huidige spellen moeten kunnen draaien, maar de meeste spellen zullen alleen met gemiddelde of lage detail instellingen en lage resoluties goed werken. Oudere of minder veeleisende spellen kunnen nog wel met goede grafische instellingen gespeeld worden.

Een CPU uit de Alder Lake familie voor het hogere middensegment, met 4 prestatie-kernen en 8 efficiënte kernen. Deze 28 W SoC is ontworpen voor gebruik in ultralichte laptops. De Core i7-1260P's prestatie-kernen zijn uitgerust met Hyper-Threading, voor een totaal van 16 threads. Deze 12e generatie CPU draait op 1,5 GHz tot 4,7 GHz en ondersteunt vPro-functies van het "Essentials"-niveau. Tot slot heeft de Core i7-1260P een ingebouwde 96 EU Iris Xe GPU, in tegenstelling tot bepaalde 11e generatie Tiger Lake-UP3-onderdelen.

i7-1360P: Op Raptor Lake-P gebaseerde CPU met een TDP van 28 Watt. Biedt 4 prestatiekernen en 8 efficiëntiekernen en dus 16 threads.
Intel Intel Meteor Lake-H:
Ultra 7 155H: Een high-end Meteor Lake-chip die in december 2023 zijn debuut maakte. Deze Core Ultra-processor van de 1e generatie vervangt de Core-chips van de 13e generatie; hij beschikt over 16 kernen (6 + 8 + 2) en 22 threads. De Performance-kernen, waarvan er 6 zijn, draaien op maximaal 4,8 GHz, terwijl de Efficient-kernen, waarvan er 10 zijn (8 hoofdkernen plus 2 extra in het Low Power Island) op maximaal 3,8 GHz draaien. De geïntegreerde AI Boost NPU biedt twee Gen 3 engines voor hardware AI werklastversnelling. Het "minimaal verzekerde" stroomverbruik van deze laptopprocessor is 28 W, terwijl het Turbo-verbruik binnen de 115 W zou moeten blijven.
