Harde concurrentie. Je moet niet altijd 800 euro uitgeven om een smartphone te krijgen die goede foto's kan maken. Althans, dat is de boodschap die Motorola met de Moto G7 Plus en zijn prijskaartje van 300 euro wilt geven. De G7 Plus beschikt over een optisch gestabiliseerde 16 MP-camera en intelligente softwarefunctionaliteiten.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

Om de schermhelderheid te verlagen schakelen sommige laptops het backlight erg snel aan en uit. Dit gebeurt aan een dergelijk hoge frequentie dat het niet zichtbaar is voor het menselijk oog. Als de frequentie te laag is kunnen personen met gevoelige ogen geïrriteerd geraken, hoofdpijn krijgen en zelfs flickering waarnemen.
Screen flickering / PWM waargenomen 2315 Hz

Het backlight van het scherm flikkert aan 2315 Hz (hoogstwaarschijnlijk met PWM - Pulse-Width Modulation) .

De frequentie van 2315 Hz is redelijk hoog en de meeste mensen die gevoelig zijn aan flickering zouden dit dus niet mogen waarnemen of geïrriteerde ogen krijgen.

Ter vergelijking: 52 % van alle geteste toestellen maakten geen gebruik van PWM om de schermhelderheid te verlagen. Als het wel werd gebruikt, werd een gemiddelde van 9813 (minimum: 43 - maximum: 142900) Hz waargenomen.

Responstijd Scherm

De responstijden van het scherm tonen hoe snel het scherm in staat is om van één kleur naar de andere te veranderen. Trage responstijden kunnen aanleiding geven tot 'nabeelden' rond bewegende objecten of het scherm wazig maken (blur). Vooral spelers van snelle 3D-games hebben baat bij een scherm met snelle responstijden.

Het scherm vertoonde prima responstijden in onze tests maar is misschien wat te traag voor competitieve games.
Ter vergelijking: alle testtoestellen variëren van 0.8 (minimum) tot 240 (maximum) ms. » 32 % van alle toestellen zijn beter.
Dit betekent dat de gemeten responstijd vergelijkbaar is met het gemiddelde (25.5 ms) van alle geteste toestellen.

Het scherm vertoonde trage responstijden in onze tests en is misschien te traag voor games.

De Motorola Moto G7 Plus is een fantastisch toestel die herdefinieert wat je mag verwachten van een mid-range smartphone. Voor minder dan 300 euro heeft Motorola een smartphone afgeleverd met uitstekende camera, een degelijk scherm en bijna alle features van moderne vlaggenschip-smartphones. De G7 Plus ziet er dankzij zijn moderne design stijlvol uit en de bouwkwaliteit is eveneens prima.

De Motorola Moto G7 Plus is een uitstekende smartphone die mensen serieus zou doen twijfelen over de aankoop van een duur vlaggenschip-toestel. Zo goed is hij.

Helaas heeft de G7 Plus ook een aantal zwakke punten. Het touchscreen klinkt redelijk hol, al kan het hier ook gaan om een probleem met ons specifieke testtoestel. De GPU is ook wat aan de trage kant en Motorola lijkt de smartphone te hebben uitgerust met een scherm van mindere kwaliteit dan zijn voorganger. We zouden ook graag een grotere batterij hebben gezien, al slaagt de inbegrepen oplader er nu wel in om het toestel in minder dan een uur volledig op te laden. Kort gezegd: de Motorola Moto G7 Plus is een uitzonderlijke smartphone voor de prijs en een uitstekend alternatief voor moderne - en aanzienlijk duurdere - vlaggenschip-smartphones.
