De Moto G6 Plus is het hoogtepunt van de huidige Moto G6-serie van Motorola. De hardware staat dus in schril contrast met die van de overige G6-modellen. In vergelijking met andere smartphones van rond de 300 euro kan de G6 Plus zich op verschillende vlakken onderscheiden; in het bijzonder de camera en de extra features van de Moto-software. Performance alleen volstaat helaas niet om de concurrentie in de problemen te brengen.
Met de Moto G6 Plus, biedt Motorola een krachtige mid-range smartphone. De G6 Plus wordt echter langs alle kanten belaagd door niet alleen externe rivalen, maar ook prima alternatieven van Motorola zelf.
Kopers van de G6 Plus krijgen een smartphone die zonder enige twijfel beantwoordt aan de verwachtingen voor een mid-range toestel. Toch zijn prijsbewuste kopers wellicht beter af met de Moto G5s. Als de inferieure camera geen afknapper is, krijg je een smartphone met bijna dezelfde prestaties als die van de opvolger. Daarnaast zijn er ook andere fabrikanten die krachtige smartphones in de prijsklasse van 300 euro bieden. Uiteindelijk zal de keuze voor een specifiek toestel vooral afhangen van persoonlijke voorkeuren.
