So, which one is better? Well, both AMD and Intel versions had similar performance, with the Ryzen 7 6800H being better in multi-core intensive tasks, while the i7-12700H being slightly better in jobs where the single-core maximum frequency is more important. It seems that in the end, the price is the deciding factor. As a gamer, get whichever version is cheaper in your region since there is no noticeable gap in performance between the two versions.

Throw in the updated hardware with increased power settings, the updated thermal module, and the addition of a MUX for the un-limited gaming experience, alongside the efficiency of the Ryzen 6000 hardware platform paired with a 90Wh battery inside, and the 2022 A15 is going to be an interesting option in the lower and mid-budget segment of all-purpose computers with a strong gaming pedigree. At the same time, though, I still have some nits with the ergonomics of this series, and with the rather high internal temperatures in demanding loads with the laptop sitting on a desk. Furthermore, the competition has also been updated for this year, and the 2022 Legion 5 or Nitro 5 are now better than ever before, and able to at least match the TUF on most of the important angles. Add in what looks like a higher price tag for the TUF Gaming notebook now, with all the updates, compared to past TUFs, as well as the internal competition from the superior ROG Strix G15 design, and the TUF A15 might not be an obvious recommendation in its class.

Its keyboard is fine for gaming but the trackpad is poor, its connectivity and build quality are mediocre, and Intel’s latest processors are faster than the Ryzen 7 6800H if we're going to nitpick. No notebook will be perfect at this price, though, and the A15’s issues aren’t ruinous – there’s still enough quality here to handle everyday life and this won’t be the last gaming laptop with a poor trackpad. The Asus TUF Gaming A15 offers good quality in most key areas, so it’s an excellent choice if you want a versatile gaming laptop without breaking the bank.

EN→NLThere’s a lot to like about the Asus TUF Gaming A15 for 2023. It’s got the power to run mainstream games on an impressive 1080p screen, and its AMD processor offers good productivity performance. The TUF FA507NU-DS74 manages to pack decent battery life in non-gaming situations. It’s an affordable laptop, though, so the Asus A15 isn’t perfect, its keyboard is fine for gaming but the trackpad is underwhelming, its connectivity and build quality are mediocre, and Intel’s latest processor is faster than the Ryzen 7 7735HS if we’re going to nitpick. No gaming laptop is going to be perfect at this price, though, and the A15’s issues don’t affect performance – there’s still enough quality here to handle everyday life and this won’t be the last gaming laptop with a poor trackpad. The Asus TUF Gaming A15 FA507NU-DS74 offers good quality in most key areas and arrives with an RTX 4050 GPU, making it an excellent choice if you want a versatile gaming laptop without breaking the bank.

If you are willing to spend a little more for a bit more finesse and higher specs, the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 (2022) is a great alternative as it packs a lot more power and has the benefit of a 2560×1600 (WQXGA) display. Or, for more impressive processor speeds, look to the Acer Nitro 5 (2022).

Dit is een midrange (misschien zelfs lower midrange) laptop, maar hij voelt (en presteert als) een segment hoger. Qua prijs was hij net een beetje boven wat ik als budget had gesteld (50 Euro), maar ik kan het voor mij goed verantwoorden en denk dat de 200 Euro bovenop de Gigabyte G5 echt goed besteed is met veel betere prestaties, veel minder lawaai, beter geluid en een beter scherm. Asus heeft de balans tussen kosten, componenten en prijsstelling echt perfect gevonden met dit apparaat. Wat mij betreft is deze laptop een grote aanrader!

Ik heb recentelijk de ASUS TUF Gaming A15 FA507XI-LP012W bij Alternate aangeschaft en ben tot nu toe zeer tevreden met mijn keuze. Deze laptop draait zonder enige moeite zware applicaties en games, waardoor mijn gebruikerservaring aanzienlijk is verbeterd. Hoewel ik hem nog niet lang in bezit heb, heeft hij tot nu toe aan al mijn verwachtingen voldaan.

Asus: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. is een grote Taiwanese fabrikant van computerhardware gevestigd in Taipei, opgericht in 1989. Onder de merknaam Asus produceert het bedrijf een breed scala aan producten, waaronder laptops, desktops, moederborden, grafische kaarten, monitoren, smartphones en netwerkapparatuur, complete systemen en pc-onderdelen voor eindgebruikers.
Onder de merknaam ROG (Republic of Gamers) produceert ASUS gaming laptops die bij gamers bekend staan om hun krachtige specificaties, speciale grafische kaarten, schermen met hoge verversingssnelheid en geavanceerde koelsystemen.
Naast gaming wordt een breed scala aan notebooks aangeboden voor verschillende behoeften en budgetten, van ultraslanke en lichtgewicht ultrabooks tot veelzijdige 2-in-1 convertibles en budgetvriendelijke opties. In 2023 had Asus wereldwijd een marktaandeel van 7% op de pc-markt.
De klanttevredenheid over ASUS-notebooks heeft betrekking op de prestaties, de functies en de goede prijs-prestatieverhouding van ASUS-notebooks. Zoals bij elk merk zijn er echter af en toe meldingen van problemen zoals oververhitting, drivercompatibiliteit of problemen met de bouwkwaliteit.

AMD Phoenix (Zen 4, Ryzen 7040):
R9 7940HS: High-end mobiele 8-core processor gebaseerd op de Zen 4 architectuur. De CPU-kernen klokken tot 5,2 GHz en voeren 16 threads tegelijk uit. Integreert een XDNA Ai-Engine. De TDP is instelbaar tussen 35 en 54 Watt.
AMD Hawk Point (Zen 4/4c, Ryzen 8040):
R9 8945HS: Een krachtige APU uit de Hawk Point familie. Dit is geen geheel nieuwe laptopprocessor, maar een rebadged R9 7940HS (de twee zijn in vrijwel alle opzichten identiek). De 8945HS heeft 8 Zen 4 kernen met SMT-ondersteuning die draaien op 4,0 GHz tot 5,2 GHz voor in totaal 16 verwerkingsthreads en wordt ook geleverd met de tweede generatie Ryzen AI-technologie die Intel's DL Boost- en GNA-technologieën volledig moet overschaduwen. Op grafisch gebied is de topklasse Radeon 780M iGPU aan boord, die af en toe gamen een stuk aangenamer zal maken.
