Asus has taken risks with the ROG Flow X16, and in several departments those have paid off. The ROG Flow X16's sturdy, good-looking exterior works well as a laptop and as a tented screen. The X16's RTX 3070 Ti graphics core is a solid performer 2560 x 1600, and the Mini LED display delivers incredible SDR and HDR performance that makes games and movies pop from the panel. Its $2,499 price isn't terrible, but if you're happy to eschew the convertible design and Mini LED display you'll find this speed for around $2,000 elsewhere. EN→NLAs far as I can tell at this time, the Flow X16 is a potentially popular addition to the ROG lineup. Its main selling points are the format, the screen options, the powerful specs for the class, and the unique thermal module that should allow for solid performance with lower fan noise levels than other designs. However, the overall performance/thermals/noise-levels trifecta is going to play a crucial role in determining the overall worth of this series in comparison to the clamshell Zephyrus models, alongside pricing and availability. I’m looking forward to spending more time with this for the review, and sharing my findings with you. For now, that’s about it for this short first look at the 2022 Asus ROG FLow X16 GV601 series. Aside from that, the ROG Flow X16 just impresses. The laptop has a beautiful display, a great combination of power and portability, and a design that other laptops would drool for. Again, currently, I’d nominate the ASUS ROG Flow X16 as my laptop of the year so far. At its price point of PHP 164,995, I’d say it eakes out every single peso you’d spend on this laptop, it’s that good. So if you’re looking for a no compromise, media, creation, gaming, and portable laptop, the ASUS ROG Flow X16 should be at the top of your list.

The Asus ROG Flow X16 is the best 2-in-1 gaming laptop and now it comes with the latest RTX 4070. Honestly there is a large part of me that wishes it still came with the Ryzen 9 platform, but in this economy of limited production I understand that we CAN’T have it all.

As it turns out, convertibles can make for very good gaming laptops. Who would have thought? Well, obviously ASUS, because they made this gorgeous, aggressive, yet elegant piece of hardware. Its processor and graphics card work as intended, providing a ton of performance. Currently, there is no title on the planet that won’t work at max settings and native resolution on this laptop’s maxed-out configuration. What comes as a negative bonus here is the price – but sometimes beautiful things cost a fortune. This is more often seen in single-channel RAM modifications. Thankfully, there are two SODIMM slots, which work with DDR5 RAM and support 64GB in dual-channel mode. You even get two M.2 PCIe x4 slots for Gen 4 SSDs. So currently, there are no obvious competitors to this notebook. Unfortunately, this means that ASUS can do whatever it wants with the pricing of this product. However, if you can afford to get one, the ROG Flow X16 (GV601, 2023) will not disappoint you.

The 2-in-1 format with a touch display, the awesome mini LED panel, and the balanced performance/cooling design are its primary differentiators over the other options out there. But the solid build quality and excellent ergonomics, the uncompromised IO, the punchy speakers, the overall performance capabilities, and even the fair battery life are also strong selling points for this series. At the same time, though, this Flow demands a premium over the clamshell Asus ROG Zephyrus lineups, and is only available with mid-tier GPU specs. That means the top-specced 2023 generation is pretty much on par in gaming and GPU capabilities with the top-tier 2022 model, and that might not suffice for some of you. Hence, a 4080 configuration would have addressed this part. But thing is, if performance is what you’re primarily after, you’re most likely better off with something else anyway.

Asus: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. is een grote Taiwanese fabrikant van computerhardware gevestigd in Taipei, opgericht in 1989. Onder de merknaam Asus produceert het bedrijf een breed scala aan producten, waaronder laptops, desktops, moederborden, grafische kaarten, monitoren, smartphones en netwerkapparatuur, complete systemen en pc-onderdelen voor eindgebruikers.
Onder de merknaam ROG (Republic of Gamers) produceert ASUS gaming laptops die bij gamers bekend staan om hun krachtige specificaties, speciale grafische kaarten, schermen met hoge verversingssnelheid en geavanceerde koelsystemen.
Naast gaming wordt een breed scala aan notebooks aangeboden voor verschillende behoeften en budgetten, van ultraslanke en lichtgewicht ultrabooks tot veelzijdige 2-in-1 convertibles en budgetvriendelijke opties. In 2023 had Asus wereldwijd een marktaandeel van 7% op de pc-markt.
De klanttevredenheid over ASUS-notebooks heeft betrekking op de prestaties, de functies en de goede prijs-prestatieverhouding van ASUS-notebooks. Zoals bij elk merk zijn er echter af en toe meldingen van problemen zoals oververhitting, drivercompatibiliteit of problemen met de bouwkwaliteit.

Mobiele Octa-Core APU met Zen 3+ kernen geklokt op 3,3 tot 4,9 GHz en een RDNA2 grafische adapter met 12 CU's geklokt op maximaal 2.400 MHz. De HS-variant biedt een 10 W lagere TDP en daardoor lagere aanhoudende prestaties dan de HX-versie.
R7 6800HS:
Mobiele Octa-Core APU met Zen 3+ kernen geklokt op 3,2 tot 4,7 GHz en een RDNA2 grafische adapter met 12 CU's geklokt op maximaal 2.200 MHz. De HS-variant biedt een 10 W lagere TDP en daardoor lagere duurzame prestaties dan de H-versie.
Intel Raptor Lake-H:
i9-13900H: Op Alder Lake gebaseerde mobiele CPU met 6 prestatie-kernen en 8 efficiënte kernen. De prestatie-kernen bieden hyper-threading, wat leidt tot 20 threads die verwerkt kunnen worden. De CPU klokt tot 5,4 GHz. Vergeleken met de i9-13900HK wordt er geen eenvoudige overklokfunctie ondersteund, maar wel een volledige vPro-beheerfunctieset.
