Where the device falters, however, is in its control of motion and of touch, with duplications, frequent frame drops, and a lack of smoothness affecting user satisfaction, particularly when gaming.

While it proved to be an outstanding device for recording —thanks to the sheer wideness of its stereo recordings — playback results were just above average, leaving the testers wanting more, considering the X Fold’s dimensions and price point. In audio playback, our experts were satisfied with a deep low-end rendition complimenting an experience that was as equally pleasant in music listening as it was in movie-watching or gaming. However, the tonal balance was inconsistent depending on content and volume, and while the stereo wideness was perfectly good, one could have hoped for even better. The X Fold truly shone in recording, and while it was best with the main camera, results were good with the front camera and memo app as well. Audio recordings were exceptionally immersive, thanks to an outstanding stereo wideness both in landscape and portrait orientations when unfolded, and offered a very pleasant and natural sound signature. "Into The Fold" is all about exploring all the different kinds of flexible-display devices, and after a week with the Vivo X Fold I’ve found it gets so much right that if it were offered here in the United States … I believe it would become the new go-to in full-size foldables.

Vivo definitely outdid itself with the X Fold2. It's by far one of the best foldables we've used as it stands out with exceptional displays (even the internal screen has a smaller-than-usual crease), great battery life, nice hinge design and not one but two ultrasonic fingerprint readers that work flawlessly. We find that last bit a huge advantage over the current side-mounted readers in today's foldables. The overall camera experience isn't bad either. It's not ideal, but it's mostly on par with what the competition offers. We would have liked a better selfie and further zoom reach (3x at least), but otherwise, the quality is solid during the day and at night. We also wished for a better stereo speaker setup, although we understand that not everyone would mind the speakers as they are.

The X Fold 2 packs a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, two OLED screens (6.5-inch and 8-inch) with 120Hz refresh rate. There's a 4,800 mAh battery and a triple camera system headlined by a 50MP Sony IMX866 main camera. To be fair, the Vivo X Fold 2 holds up quite well against the Galaxy Z Fold 4. Deze grafische kaarten zouden alle huidige spellen moeten kunnen draaien, maar de meeste spellen zullen alleen met gemiddelde of lage detail instellingen en lage resoluties goed werken. Oudere of minder veeleisende spellen kunnen nog wel met goede grafische instellingen gespeeld worden.
Qualcomm Adreno 730:
Grafische chip voor smartphones en tablets die geïntegreerd is in de Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. Qualcomm claimt dat deze 30% sneller is dan de Adreno 660 in de Snapdragon 888 SoC. Voor Android zou het eind 2021 een van de snelste grafische kaarten moeten zijn.
Qualcomm Adreno 740:
Grafische chip voor smartphones en tablets die is geïntegreerd in de Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.
