Lenovo’s newest addition release to its T lineup is one that we are certainly impressed with. The Lenovo Thinkpad T16 is a phenomenal laptop for productivity, traveling, and general business use, and an all-day battery. The performance is more than adequate for a business professional and will only begin to fall short for intensive creative tasks or complex modeling programs. The price is a little high, but a solid all-around device that is well worth considering if you are in the market.

If you need a quality productivity laptop that you can bring with you on long trips, the Lenovo Thinkpad T16 Gen 1 will absolutely satisfy you. Thanks to its 12th Gen processor and integrated graphics, the laptop delivers excellent overall performance outside of a sluggish SSD. And the excellence continues on the battery life with almost 12 hours of battery life. The speakers are impressive especially for a business system and a comfortable keyboard and a host of security features are just icing on the cake. But for the $2,099 Lenovo is asking, I expect better from the display and the SSD. If you’re looking for a system that brings those to the table with comparable battery life and performance, I recommend the Acer Swift 5 (2022). But if you’re looking for solid business laptops for mobile professionals, the Lenovo ThinkPad T16 Gen 1 deserves a closer look.

I would have liked to see a brighter display, especially with a price tag that can easily reach north of $2000, but with the solid performance and great battery life, I can live with the 300 nits of brightness. If you routinely work outside, you may want to spring for their display with improved brightness. While not as user serviceable as the Framework laptop, the bottom panel of this Lenovo ThinkPad T16 Gen 1 notebook can be removed, allowing access to replace some of the internals, such as the RAM and hard drive. If you're the sort of person that aims to use any given piece of hardware for as much time as possible, the ability to upgrade RAM and storage space in a laptop like this should be a prerequisite to any purchase.  You can find the Lenovo ThinkPad T16 Gen 1 for a range of prices, anywhere from $1055.52 all the way up to and beyond $2,000, all based on the parts you choose and the software you include on the Lenovo website. Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" uit de Engelse legende, novo (Latijn voor nieuw) werd in 1984 opgericht als Chinees handelsbedrijf in computers. In 2004 was het bedrijf de grootste laptopfabrikant in China en, na de overname van IBM's pc-divisie in 2005, de op drie na grootste ter wereld. Naast desktops en notebooks produceert het bedrijf monitoren, projectors, servers, enz. en is het gespecialiseerd in de ontwikkeling, productie en marketing van consumentenelektronica, pc's, software, bedrijfsoplossingen en aanverwante diensten.

In 2016 stond het bedrijf op de eerste plaats in de wereld wat betreft computerverkopen. Dit was in 2023 nog steeds het geval, met een wereldwijd marktaandeel van ongeveer 23%. Belangrijke productlijnen zijn Thinkpad, Legion en Ideapad.

In 2011 verwierf het een meerderheidsbelang in Medion AG, een Europese fabrikant van computerhardware. In 2014 werd Motorola Mobility gekocht, wat Lenovo een boost gaf op de smartphonemarkt.

Deze grafische kaarten zouden alle huidige spellen moeten kunnen draaien, maar de meeste spellen zullen alleen met gemiddelde of lage detail instellingen en lage resoluties goed werken. Oudere of minder veeleisende spellen kunnen nog wel met goede grafische instellingen gespeeld worden.

Een middenklasse 28 W Alder Lake familie CPU met 4 prestatie-kernen en 8 efficiënte kernen. Deze SoC is ontworpen voor gebruik in ultralichte laptops. De prestatiekernen van de i5 zijn voorzien van de Hyper-Threading-technologie voor het verdubbelen van threads, voor een totaal van 16 threads. De Core i5-1240P draait op 1,2 GHz tot 4,4 GHz; hij heeft een ingebouwde Iris Xe GPU van 80 EU en ondersteunt vPro-functies van het "Essentials"-niveau.

i7-1270P:

Een high-end CPU uit de Alder Lake-P familie met 4 prestatie-kernen en 8 efficiënte kernen, samen met de 96 EU Iris Xe iGPU. De CPU-kernen werken op 1,6 GHz tot 4,8 GHz. Deze i7 is ontworpen voor gebruik in ultralichte laptops. De prestatie-kernen zijn voorzien van de Hyper-Threading-technologie voor verdubbeling van threads, voor in totaal 16 threads. Core i7-1270P heeft een TDP van 28 W en ondersteunt vPro-functies op "Enterprise"-niveau.

R5 PRO 6650U: Mobiele Hexa-Core APU met zes Zen 3+ kernen geklokt op 2,9 tot 4,5 GHz en een RDNA2 grafische adapter met 6 CU's geklokt op maximaal 1.900 MHz. De TDP is gespecificeerd op 15 - 28 Watt. De Ryzen 7 PRO 6650U is de professionele versie van de consumentenversie van de Ryzen 5 6600U met extra beheerfuncties en de Microsoft Pluton Security-processor.
