Succesvol. Razer's dunne 14-inch is uitgerust met krachtige hardware die alle moderne games op Full HD resolutie kan spelen. Daarnaast zijn we tevreden over het uithoudingsvermogen, de goede invoerapparaten en Thunderbolt 3 poort.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

Om de schermhelderheid te verlagen schakelen sommige laptops het backlight erg snel aan en uit. Dit gebeurt aan een dergelijk hoge frequentie dat het niet zichtbaar is voor het menselijk oog. Als de frequentie te laag is kunnen personen met gevoelige ogen geïrriteerd geraken, hoofdpijn krijgen en zelfs flickering waarnemen.
Screen flickering / PWM niet waargenomen

Ter vergelijking: 59 % van alle geteste toestellen maakten geen gebruik van PWM om de schermhelderheid te verlagen. Als het wel werd gebruikt, werd een gemiddelde van 4287 (minimum: 43 - maximum: 142900) Hz waargenomen.

Responstijd Scherm

De responstijden van het scherm tonen hoe snel het scherm in staat is om van één kleur naar de andere te veranderen. Trage responstijden kunnen aanleiding geven tot 'nabeelden' rond bewegende objecten of het scherm wazig maken (blur). Vooral spelers van snelle 3D-games hebben baat bij een scherm met snelle responstijden.

Razer heeft het voor elkaar gekregen om veel rekenkracht in een kleine en aantrekkelijke behuizing te proppen. Het systeem kan alle moderne games aan, maar de frame rates zijn lager dan bij grotere concurrenten. Het koelsysteem is beperkt vanwege de kleine behuizing, dus klokt de GPU af en toe terug. De notebook is nooit geheel stil, maar er valt te leven met het constante geluid van de ventilator. Een uiterst snelle SSD resulteert in een responsief systeem. Onderhoud is geen probleem en de geïnstalleerde poorten zijn toekomstbestendig. We missen alleen een Gigabite-Ethernet poort, waarvoor nu een USB adapter noodzakelijk is.

De Full HD Blade is een overtuigend pakket.

Het grootste verschil met het eerder geteste model van de Blade is het beeldscherm. Het IPS paneel met brede kijkhoeken heeft een hoge helderheid en groot contrast. Positief: vergeleken met de QHD+ versie van de tweelingbroer, hebben we geen PWM kunnen ontdekken op het Full HD beeldscherm. Daarbij komt dat het FHD paneel efficiënter is dan het QHD+ touchscreen en daardoor langere looptijden tot gevolg heeft.
