Kort testrapport Oppo Find X2 Lite smartphone: Degelijke mid-ranger schiet tekort op haptisch vlak

Haptische misser? De Find X2 Lite wordt, net als zijn Find X2 Neo-zustermodel, aangedreven door een Snapdragon 765G, maar met een prijs van 440 euro is hij duidelijk goedkoper. De besparingen zijn niet alleen merkbaar aan de interne componenten, maar ook aan de buitenkant, aangezien Oppo in de Find X2 Lite veel plastic gebruikt in plaats van glas.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

Om de schermhelderheid te verlagen schakelen sommige laptops het backlight erg snel aan en uit. Dit gebeurt aan een dergelijk hoge frequentie dat het niet zichtbaar is voor het menselijk oog. Als de frequentie te laag is kunnen personen met gevoelige ogen geïrriteerd geraken, hoofdpijn krijgen en zelfs flickering waarnemen.
Screen flickering / PWM waargenomen 247.5 Hz ≤ 99 % helderheid instelling

Het backlight van het scherm flikkert aan 247.5 Hz (hoogstwaarschijnlijk met PWM - Pulse-Width Modulation) aan een helderheid van 99 % en lager. Boven deze helderheid zou er geen flickering / PWM mogen optreden.

De frequentie van 247.5 Hz is redelijk laag en de meeste mensen die gevoelig zijn aan flickering kunnen dit dus waarnemen of geïrriteerde ogen krijgen (gebruikmakend van de vermelde helderheid en lager).

Ter vergelijking: 51 % van alle geteste toestellen maakten geen gebruik van PWM om de schermhelderheid te verlagen. Als het wel werd gebruikt, werd een gemiddelde van 17886 (minimum: 5 - maximum: 2500000) Hz waargenomen.

Responstijd Scherm

De responstijden van het scherm tonen hoe snel het scherm in staat is om van één kleur naar de andere te veranderen. Trage responstijden kunnen aanleiding geven tot 'nabeelden' rond bewegende objecten of het scherm wazig maken (blur). Vooral spelers van snelle 3D-games hebben baat bij een scherm met snelle responstijden.

Conclusie - Tekortkoming op haptisch vlak en qua design

Net als bij zijn zustermodel is het heldere, gelijkmatig verlichte en contrastrijke OLED-paneel van de Find X2 Lite het hoogtepunt van de mid-range smartphone. Met de behuizing van de Find X2 Neo - van hoge kwaliteit, slank en verfijnd - zou het concept van het Lite-model van Oppo perfect begrijpelijk zijn geweest. In vergelijking met andere Snapdragon 865-toestellen in de prijsklasse van ongeveer 500 euro, zoals de Pocophone F2 Pro of de Nubia RedMagic 5G, had de Find X2 Lite zich kunnen onderscheiden met zijn premium uiterlijk. Maar dit gebeurde niet vanwege het "plastic gevoel" en de relatief ongunstige verhouding tussen scherm en behuizing.

Het is jammer dat Oppo het visuele aspect van zijn Lite-model heeft verwaarloosd. Met de premium look van het zustermodel zou de Find X2 Lite een interessante optie zijn geweest in de prijsklasse tussen 400 en 500 euro.

Wat overblijft is een degelijke mid-range smartphone met duidelijke tekortkomingen op het vlak van camerakwaliteit: van de quad-camera-configuratie aan de achterkant biedt immers alleen de hoofdcamera een echte meerwaarde. Bovendien mist de Find X2 Lite alle premiumfuncties zoals draadloos opladen, een IP-classificatie of e-SIM. Ondersteuning voor SD-kaarten of twee SIM-kaarten en stereoluidsprekers ontbreken ook.
