De P9 blinkt namelijk nergens écht in uit en er zijn inmiddels betere smartphones op de markt gekomen. Maar dat neemt niet weg dat deze Huawei P9 een erg interessante smartphone is met weinig nadelen. Hij heeft een prachtig ontwerp, is snel, heeft een goede batterij en een bijzondere camera. De software – het grote pijnpunt voor de update naar Nougat – is nu goed genoeg. Als ik dan toch nadelen aan de P9 moet bedenken is het vooral het gebrek aan sommige functies die inmiddels steeds meer gemeengoed worden in het topsegment. Denk aan dualsim en een waterdichte behuizing.

Finally, the P9 continues the improvement of its Emotion UI, on top of the latest Android Marshmallow. All in all, Huawei’s new flagship is a good smartphone. Not a ground-breaking one, but a good one nonetheless. Throughout our testing, we did not come across any major, deal-breaking flaws. The UI ran smoothly, the camera worked fine, and the screen, despite its inaccurate color reproduction, got the job done. But at the same time, there doesn’t seem to be anything to make the Huawei P9 stand above the competition. True, its camera can snap pretty pictures once you get the hang of it, but it failed to meet the high expectations set by Huawei’s marketing department.

Finally, the P9 continues the improvement of its Emotion UI, on top of the latest Android Marshmallow. The launcher is very intuitive and easy to use, but it has lots of tweaks and customizations settings that will please everyone. The company likes to focus on the user experience, and that's why the P9 has one of the fastest and most accurate fingerprint readers, one of the best IPS displays out there, and a very good battery life. Even the loudspeaker and audio quality performance are doing very well.

In fact, given the sheer all-round quality of the P9 it's a fantastically capable phone for the money. It's tough to argue with an attractive, capable smartphone that undercuts much of its competition on price, yet still packs in a superb camera, good performance and a whole heap of premium features. Huawei:

De meeste niet-veeleisende huidige games kunnen vloeiend draaien. Wees voorbereid op verminderde grafische weergave door lage detailinstellingen en lage resoluties. Toch verschaffen deze kaarten voldoende prestatie voor kantoor taken en video bekijken (niet voor HD videos).

ARM Mali-T880 MP4:

Alleen oudere games kunnen vloeiend draaien met deze grafische chips (als ze niet veeleisend zijn). Gedeeld geheugen grafische cores in deze categorie hebben het voordeel van minder warmte-ontwikkeling en langere batterijlooptijd. Voor kantoor, internet, beeldcorrectie- en videomonteringswerk zijn deze grafische chips nog steeds bruikbaar zonder enige beperkingen.

ARM Mali-T830 MP2:

Deze grafische kaarten voor notebooks zijn niet bruikbaar voor games. Als ze al games kunnen draaien, dan doen ze dat met grafische afwijkingen en heel lage framesnelheid. Voor gamers zijn deze chips ongeschikt! Kantoor en internet taken zijn, daarentegen, geen probleem voor deze GPUs.
