Het ontwerp is misschien niet nieuw, maar de uitgebalanceerde specificaties en relatief koele kerntemperaturen tijdens het gamen geven de Omen 17z een voorsprong op andere midrange gamingmachines.
Commentaar
HP: Het Amerikaanse bedrijf werd opgericht in 1939 en is een belangrijke server- en printerfabrikant en een van de toonaangevende IT-bedrijven ter wereld. Tot 2015 heette het bedrijf Hewlett-Packard Company. Na een splitsing werd de computerdivisie omgedoopt tot HP Inc.
In 2023 had HP een geschat marktaandeel van 22% van de wereldwijde pc-verkoop, waarmee het nummer 2 werd na Lenovo.
Deze grafische kaarten zouden de meeste moderne spellen op een hoge resolutie en hoge details moeten kunnen draaien (enkele uitzonderingen zijn mogelijk).
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Laptop GPU:
High-end grafische kaart voor laptops gebaseerd op de Ada Lovelace-architectuur. Biedt 12 GB GDDR6 (192 bit) en is configureerbaar met een TGP van 60 - 150 W (+ Dynamic Boost).
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU:
High-end grafische kaart voor laptops gebaseerd op de Ada Lovelace-architectuur. Biedt 8 GB GDDR6 (128 bit) en is configureerbaar met een TGP van 35 - 115 W (+ Dynamic Boost).
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop: Een aankomende grafische kaart uit de Blackwell-familie voor laptops, die Team Green waarschijnlijk op CES 2025 zal presenteren. Aangezien de 4070 laptop 4.608 unified shaders (CUDA-kernen) heeft, zal de 5070 hoogstwaarschijnlijk meer dan 5.000 shaders hebben.
Deze middenklasse grafische kaarten kunnen alle huidige spellen vloeiend spelen. Veeleisende spellen kunnen alleen met gemiddelde detail instellingen gespeeld worden.

Intel Raptor Lake-HX:
i9-13900HX: Mobiele CPU gebaseerd op de Raptor Lake serie die 24 cores biedt (8 prestatie-, 16 efficiëntiekernen) met een Boost core tot 5,8 GHz voor de P-cores. Vergelijkbaar met de Desktop i9-13900K, maar met lagere kloksnelheden en TDP.
AMD Hawk Point (Zen 4/4c):
R7 8845HS: Een krachtige Hawk Point-familiechip die in H2 2023 het levenslicht zag. Wij denken dat de 8845HS een vermomde R7 7840HS is. De 8845HS heeft 8 cores (16 threads dankzij SMT-ondersteuning) die op maximaal 5,1 GHz draaien; naast de volledige kracht van de Zen 4-architectuur wordt de chip geleverd met de 2e generatie Ryzen AI-technologie die generatieve AI alomtegenwoordiger zal maken dan ooit tevoren. En last but not least: de Radeon 780M dient als geïntegreerde GPU.
R9 8945HS: Een krachtige APU uit de Hawk Point familie. Dit is geen geheel nieuwe laptopprocessor, maar een rebadged R9 7940HS (de twee zijn in vrijwel alle opzichten identiek). De 8945HS heeft 8 Zen 4 kernen met SMT-ondersteuning die draaien op 4,0 GHz tot 5,2 GHz voor in totaal 16 verwerkingsthreads en wordt ook geleverd met de tweede generatie Ryzen AI-technologie die Intel's DL Boost- en GNA-technologieën volledig moet overschaduwen. Op grafisch gebied is de topklasse Radeon 780M iGPU aan boord, die af en toe gamen een stuk aangenamer zal maken.
AMD :
Ryzen AI 7 350: Een relatief krachtige processor uit de Strix Point familie die in oktober 2024 zijn debuut maakte. De APU met hybride architectuur heeft 8 CPU-kernen (een mix van Zen 5- en Zen 5c-kernen) die op maximaal 5,0 GHz draaien, samen met de Radeon 880M grafische adapter en de 50 TOPS XDNA 2 neurale engine. De AMD Secure Processor (in een notendop een on-package ARM co-processor) is ook aan boord, net als een paar andere high-end functies, zoals AMD-Vi. Andere belangrijke kenmerken zijn PCIe 4, USB 4 en tot LPDDR5x-8000 RAM ondersteuning, inclusief ECC RAM. De TDP vermogensdoelstelling voor de lange termijn kan oplopen tot 55 W.
