EN→NLOverall, the HP Omen 17 (2021, 17-ck0000) is a solid gaming device. The build quality is good except for the lid which can be a bit spongy if you twist it. We are a bit disappointed because the lid and the bottom plate are made of plastic and the end-price of this machine is on the high side. However, the base of the laptop is stable and rigid. HP Omen 17 (2021, 17-ck0000) is a good gaming device that comes with a comfortable keyboard, powerful hardware under the bonnet, a good cooling solution that is almost quiet under heavy load. The good upgradability options and the rich-in port I/O are making this device one of the best gaming offers on the market.

Prima laptop en specs, laptop is wat aan de zware kant en oplaad adapter is groot en lomp. Met een volle accu heb je ongeveer 2 uur plezier (bij normaal gebruik) daarna moet de laptop weer aan de lader.

EN→NLHP has once again created a laptop that is absolutely packed with features. Audio is created by Bang & Olufsen, the sound card supports DTS:X Ultra, while there is a present 3.5mm jack. Not to mention the port selection, which not only features a Thunderbolt 4 connector, SD card reader, and a real HDMI 2.1, but also a Mini DisplayPort, three USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 1) ports, and a LAN port. This is pretty much every port you’ll ever need in a laptop. Of course, the hardware is a big part of this setup. Its 55W 13th Gen Intel CPU is insanely powerful, while the RTX 4080 is capable of using its full 175W TGP budget. However, there are a couple of things regarding the cooling. For starters, it only uses three heat pipes, which sounds like madness in 2023. And while it can sustain the aforementioned RTX 4080, it doesn’t come without disadvantages. One price to pay is the high internal temperature. Another is the high noise. Last, but not least – it doesn’t quite get to the clocks reached by the Lenovo Legion 7 (16″, 2023).

HP: Het Amerikaanse bedrijf werd opgericht in 1939 en is een belangrijke server- en printerfabrikant en een van de toonaangevende IT-bedrijven ter wereld. Tot 2015 heette het bedrijf Hewlett-Packard Company. Na een splitsing werd de computerdivisie omgedoopt tot HP Inc.
In 2023 had HP een geschat marktaandeel van 22% van de wereldwijde pc-verkoop, waarmee het nummer 2 werd na Lenovo.
Deze middenklasse grafische kaarten kunnen alle huidige spellen vloeiend spelen. Veeleisende spellen kunnen alleen met gemiddelde detail instellingen gespeeld worden.

Tiger Lake (H45-serie) gebaseerde high-end octa-core SoC voor gaming laptops en werkstations. De acht CPU-kernen draaien op 2,3 GHz tot 4,6 GHz. De geïntegreerde UHD Graphics GPU biedt 32 EU's op maximaal 1,45 GHz. De chip is vervaardigd op het tweede generatie 10 nm Intel SuperFin-proces.
i9-11900H:
Tiger Lake (H45-serie) gebaseerde high-end octa-core SoC voor gaming laptops en werkstations. De acht CPU-kernen klokken met 2,5 - 4,9 GHz. De geïntegreerde UHD Graphics GPU biedt 32 kernen op maximaal 1,45 GHz. De chip is vervaardigd in het 10nm SuperFin (verbeterd 10nm) proces.
Intel Alder Lake-S:
i7-12700H:
Een op Alder-Lake gebaseerde mobiele processor met 6 prestatiekernen en 8 efficiënte kernen. De prestatiekernen bieden hyper-threading, waardoor 20 threads kunnen worden verwerkt. De processor werkt op frequenties van 1,7 tot 4,7 GHz en ondersteunt vPro.
i9-12900HX: Op Alder Lake gebaseerde mobiele CPU met 8 prestatie-kernen en 8 efficiënte kernen. De prestatie-kernen bieden hyper-threading, wat leidt tot 24 threads die verwerkt kunnen worden. De CPU klokt van 1,7 tot 5 GHz. De CPU biedt geen ondersteuning voor vPro en ECC geheugen.
Intel Raptor Lake-HX:
i9-13900HX: Mobiele CPU gebaseerd op de Raptor Lake serie die 24 cores biedt (8 prestatie-, 16 efficiëntiekernen) met een Boost core tot 5,8 GHz voor de P-cores. Vergelijkbaar met de Desktop i9-13900K, maar met lagere kloksnelheden en TDP.
i7-13700HX: Mobiele CPU gebaseerd op de Raptor Lake serie die 16 cores biedt (8 prestatie-, 8 efficiëntiekernen). Vergelijkbaar met de desktop Core i7-13700K, maar met lagere kloksnelheden.

Gewoonlijk hebben subnotebooks, ultrabooks en redelijk lichte laptops met een 12-16 inch schermdiagonaal dit gewicht.
