Dell heeft de nieuwste versie van zijn kantoor- en businessreeks 3000 op de markt geïntroduceerd en voegt enkele nieuwe problemen toe aan de al bekende zwakke punten van dit assortiment. Niet alleen is het beeldscherm een probleem met deze nieuwste versie, waarmee we al ontevreden zouden zijn bij een €400 budget-laptop, maar spelen er ook andere technische problemen. Afgezien van dit gebrek heeft het apparaat een zeer goede batterijlevensduur. UPDATE 08.07.2019: De nieuwe BIOS-versie 1.9.8 verbetert de problemen met de hitte en geluidsproductie.

EN→NLSo who is this laptop aimed at? Is it the business person that needs a secure laptop, or is it for companies, that are going to buy it in bulk? Well, we feel like it is the latter. And this is because of one thing in particular. While its simplistic design is visually appealing, the build quality is just not there. The base cracks and squeaks every time you twist it, which is definitely not a sign of attention to detail and structural rigidity. Dell Latitude 15 3520’s IPS panel has a Full HD resolution, comfortable viewing angles, and a good contrast ratio. Unfortunately, it covers only 53% of the sRGB color gamut, and it uses relatively low-frequency PWM up to 89 nits. Thankfully, the more sensitive users can take advantage of our Health-Guard profile, which completely eliminates the issue. Apart from that, there are some pretty sweet features like the wide I/O, which may not include a Thunderbolt 4 connection, but offers a USB Type-C 3.2 (Gen. 2×2). This provides a 20Gbps speed, which is twice as fast as the USB Type-C 3.2 (Gen. 2) port.

Dell: Dell is een Amerikaanse fabrikant (gevestigd in Texas) van computerhardware, opgericht in 1984 en is een van de grootste internationale fabrikanten, zowel qua marktaandeel als qua notebookmodellen. De productlijn omvat desktops, notebooks, opslagsystemen, monitors, servers, printers, consumentenelektronica en randapparatuur. Dell biedt laptops die geschikt zijn voor verschillende toepassingen, zoals zakelijke laptops, gaming laptops, ultra portables en werkstations. De zakelijke laptops uit de Latitude en Precision series van Dell zijn een optie voor professionele gebruikers en bedrijven.
In 2023 had Dell een marktaandeel van ongeveer 17% in de wereldwijde verkoop van pc's en stond daarmee op de derde plaats, na Lenovo en HP.
Voor gameliefhebbers is er Dell's Alienware merk voor gaming notebooks.
Deze grafische kaarten zouden alle huidige spellen moeten kunnen draaien, maar de meeste spellen zullen alleen met gemiddelde of lage detail instellingen en lage resoluties goed werken. Oudere of minder veeleisende spellen kunnen nog wel met goede grafische instellingen gespeeld worden.

Mid-range grafische kaart van de GeForce 800M-serie van de Maxwell-architectuur.
Intel UHD Graphics 620:
Geïntegreerde GPU (GT2, 24 EU's) die je terugvindt in sommige CPU-modellen van de Kaby Lake-refresh (15-Watt ULV-serie). Technisch identiek aan de vorige Kaby Lake-GPU genaamd HD Graphics 620.
AMD Radeon 530:
Instap grafische kaart met 320 van 384 shaders (afhankelijk van de gebruikte chip) en DDR3 of GDDR5 grafisch geheugen (beide met een 64-bit-bus). Beide chips werden een aantal jaren hergebruikt, startend met de Radeon 8590M (28nm GCN).
Intel Iris Xe G7 80EUs:
Geïntegreerde grafische kaart in Intel Tiger Lake G7 SoC's op basis van de nieuwe Gen. 12-architectuur met 80 EU's (Execution Units / Shader Cluster). De kloksnelheid is afhankelijk van het processormodel. De Tiger Lake chips worden geproduceerd in het moderne 10nm+ proces bij Intel.
De meeste niet-veeleisende huidige games kunnen vloeiend draaien. Wees voorbereid op verminderde grafische weergave door lage detailinstellingen en lage resoluties. Toch verschaffen deze kaarten voldoende prestatie voor kantoor taken en video bekijken (niet voor HD videos).
Intel HD Graphics 5500:
Geïntegreerde grafische kaart (GT2) in de Core processors van de Broadwell U-serie (15 W TDP).

Intel Core i5:
4200U: Haswell-gebaseerde ULV dual-core processor geklokt aan 1.6 GHz met ondersteuning voor Turbo Boost tot en met 2.6 GHz. De CPU is uitgerust met een geïntegreerde HD Graphics 4400 en een dual-channel DDR3 geheugen-controller.
5200U:
Broadwell-gebaseerde ULV dual-core-CPU voor notebooks en ultrabooks. De chip beschikt over een geïntegreerde HD Graphics 5500 GPU en is gefabriceerd in 14 nm.
Intel Core i7:

i5-8550U:
Zuinige quad-core-processor gebaseerd op Kaby-Lake-refresh. De vier cores zijn geklokt aan 1.8 tot 4 GHz (Turbo Boost) en ondersteunen HyperThreading. De geïntegreerde GPU is geklokt aan 300 tot 1150 MHz. De SoC is gefabriceerd in een 14nm+ FinFET-proces.
Intel Comet Lake:
i3-10110U: Comet Lake gebaseerde low power dual-core processor (technisch identiek aan Whiskey Lake en nog steeds geproduceerd in 14nm++). De CPU cores kunnen klokken tussen 2.1 en 4.1 GHz (alle 4 cores 3.7 GHz max.) met HyperThreading (4 threads). De geïntegreerde geheugencontroller ondersteunt DDR4-2666 en met behulp van cTDP up/down kunnen de prestaties door de OEM worden aangepast (10 - 25 Watt mogelijk, 15W standaard). De geïntegreerde grafische kaart klokken van 300 - 1000 MHz en biedt slechts 23 in plaats van 24 CU's.
Intel Tiger Lake:
i5-1135G7:
Tiger Lake gebaseerde low power quad-core processor voor dunne en lichte laptops. Vervaardigd in een verbeterd 10nm proces bij Intel.
Intel Alder Lake-M:
i5-1235U:
Een op Alder-Lake gebaseerde mobiele processor met 2 prestatiekernen en 8 efficiënte kernen. De prestatiekernen bieden hyper-threading, waardoor 12 threads kunnen worden verwerkt. De CPU draait op frequenties van 0,9 tot 4,4 GHz. De TDP is gespecificeerd op 15 Watt.

1.79 kg:
Gewoonlijk hebben subnotebooks, ultrabooks en redelijk lichte laptops met een 12-16 inch schermdiagonaal dit gewicht.
2.5 kg:
Dit gewicht is typisch voor laptops met een 14-16 inch schermdiagonaal.
79.1%: Dit cijfer is niet echt overtuigend. Het moet in acht worden genomen dat er bijna geen laptops zijn die een score onder de 60% hebben. Dit notebook is beneden gemiddeld beoordeeld, en is niet aanbevolen te kopen.
