Dankzij de hardware in de Dell G5 kunnen alle moderne games soepel worden weergegeven op het 15,6-inch beeldscherm (FHD, IPS). De configuratie is aantrekkelijk: SSD + HDD, 8 GB RAM (tweekanaalsmodus is ingeschakeld) en Thunderbolt 3. De uitstekende batterijlevensduur is verrassend. Dit prijsniveau vereist echter ook enkele compromissen.

EN→NLIf you buy a less-expensive gaming laptop, you'll have less room to grow when future generations of games are released. The laptop will feel dated that much sooner, whereas a bigger investment, for example in a gaming laptop with Nvidia 3070 or 3080 graphics, could conceivably last you years longer. But a good budget gaming laptop, especially considering the sale prices mentioned above, can also be a smarter bet, depending how much you want to spend and how heavy of a gamer you are. I'd feel fine using an Nvidia 3060 laptop like our G16 for at least the next few years. A budget laptop with a 3050 GPU is more of a short-term investment, but for $799 as tested, or $899 with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB hard drive, it's a great value and a great starter gaming laptop.

Dell: Dell is een Amerikaanse fabrikant (gevestigd in Texas) van computerhardware, opgericht in 1984 en is een van de grootste internationale fabrikanten, zowel qua marktaandeel als qua notebookmodellen. De productlijn omvat desktops, notebooks, opslagsystemen, monitors, servers, printers, consumentenelektronica en randapparatuur. Dell biedt laptops die geschikt zijn voor verschillende toepassingen, zoals zakelijke laptops, gaming laptops, ultra portables en werkstations. De zakelijke laptops uit de Latitude en Precision series van Dell zijn een optie voor professionele gebruikers en bedrijven.
In 2023 had Dell een marktaandeel van ongeveer 17% in de wereldwijde verkoop van pc's en stond daarmee op de derde plaats, na Lenovo en HP.
Voor gameliefhebbers is er Dell's Alienware merk voor gaming notebooks.
Deze middenklasse grafische kaarten kunnen alle huidige spellen vloeiend spelen. Veeleisende spellen kunnen alleen met gemiddelde detail instellingen gespeeld worden.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Mobile:
Mid-range tot high-end grafische kaart voor laptops gebaseerd op de Turing-architectuur met ray-tracing en 1920 shaders. Beschikt over verlaagde kloksnelheden ten opzichte van de vergelijkbaar genaamde desktop-variant.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Mobile:
Mid-range discrete grafische kaart voor laptops gebaseerd op de GTX 1650 voor desktops en dus de Turing-architectuur (TU117-chip in 12-nm-FFN) zonder ray-tracing en Tensor-cores.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q:
High-end grafische kaart voor laptops gebaseerd op de TU106-chip met 2304 shaders en 8 GB GDDR6 VRAM. Heeft verlaagde kloksnelheden in vergelijking met een RTX 2070 (laptop-versie) om een veel lager energieverbruik te bekomen.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Mobile:
Mid-range discrete grafische kaart voor laptops gebaseerd op de GTX 1660 Ti voor desktops en dus de Turing-architectuur zonder ray-tracing en Tensor-cores. De prestaties van de Max-P-variant zouden vergelijkbaar moeten zijn met die van een oudere GTX 1070.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti Laptop GPU:
Grafische kaart voor gaminglaptops uit het middensegment, gebaseerd op de Ampere GA107-chip.

Intel Coffee Lake:
i7-8750H:
Coffee-Lake-gebaseerde processor voor grote en zware laptops. Integreert zes processor-cores geklokt aan 2.2 - 4.1 GHz (4 GHz met 4 cores, 3.9 GHz met 6 cores) met ondersteuning voor HyperThreading. Gefabricreerd in een verbeterd 14nm-proces (14nm++).
i5-9300H:
Op Coffee Lake-architectuur gebaseerde processor voor grote en zware laptops. Integreert vier processor-cores geklokt aan 2,4 - 4,1 GHz (4 GHz met 4 cores) die HyperThreading ondersteunen. Vervaardigd in een verbeterd 14nm-proces (14nm++).
Intel Comet Lake:
i7-10750H:
Een krachtige hexa-core processor ontworpen voor de dikkere laptops met ruimte voor betere thermiek. De Comet Lake-H-processor is vervaardigd op het third-gen 14 nm Intel-proces en is voorzien van de UHD Graphics 630 iGPU geklokt op 350 MHz tot 1.150 MHz. De CPU-kernen draaien op 2,6 GHz (basiskloksnelheid) met een boost tot 5 GHz en de waarschijnlijke all-core Boost-frequentie is 4,3 GHz. Hyper-Threading ondersteuning is ingeschakeld, waardoor twee threads gelijktijdig kunnen draaien op elke core.
Intel Alder Lake-P:
i5-12500H:
Op Alder Lake gebaseerde mobiele CPU met 4 prestatiekernen en 8 efficiëntiekernen. De prestatiekernen bieden hyper threading, wat leidt tot 16 verwerkbare threads. De processor werkt op frequenties van 1,8 tot 4,5 GHz en ondersteunt vPro.
