ASUS zet de Transformer Book T100 Chi duidelijk als luxere variant naast de normale T100 op de markt. Qua prestaties win je dan ook niets met de Transformer Book T100 Chi ten opzichte van de normale Transformer Book T100. Waar je wel flink op wint is de gebruikservaring. Het scherm is flink verbeterd en ook het toetsenbord en de touchpad zijn een stukje verbeterd. Daarnaast krijg je nu 64 GB opslag in plaats van 32GB. ASUS heeft de tablet waarschijnlijk zo dun gekregen door gebruik te maken van bluetooth voor de koppeling met het toetsenbord. Dat werkt prima, maar jammer is wel dat je het toetsenbord los moet opladen en dat de werktijd van de T100 Chi korter is dan de normale T100. Toch is een werktijd tussen de acht en negen uur niet verkeerd. Een Transformer Book T100 met 32 GB opslag en 2 GB RAM kost 349 euro (let op dat ASUS inmiddels ook varianten met 1 GB RAM voert) terwijl de T100 Chi 449 euro kost. Wat mij betreft rechtvaardigt het flink verbeterde scherm en de grotere opslag de meerprijs.

This is a good upgrade to the Transformer Book T100. The body design and materials have taken a leap forward, it's long-lasting despite the absence of a battery in the keyboard dock, and it performs fine as long as you stick to basic tasks (web browsing, productivity, multimedia playback...). Unfortunately, it has very little storage for your personal files, unfaithful colours and not a single full-size USB port.

We're a little underwhelmed by the Asus Transformer Book Chi T100. Put together the result looks quite smart and we cannot fault build and finish quality at the price. However it is compromised as a laptop by feeling too cramped in working screen space, with a frustrating sleep-happy keyboard and its tiny awkward keys. And as a tablet it fails to be any more endearing than every other unloved Windows tablet before it.

If you really want a hybrid 2-in-1 laptop, there is nothing necessarily wrong with the T100 Chi. You do get a quality keyboard dock, and the tablet section slots in well, held by two strong magnets. However, you were looking for a tablet and thought a 2-in-1 may be worth the extra cash, you would be advised to invest your money in a larger tablet like an iPad or the Nexus 9.

It’s doomed as a tablet in no small part by its low-grade and low-resolution TN display, and as a regular laptop is bested by non-touchscreen models at half the price with better specifications.

It's a shame that the TP200SA's performance problems are so numerous. I initially found it a nice little laptop to work with. For word processing and a bit of internet usage, it did the job. It feels pretty sturdy, unlike a lot of budget laptops which feel as though they’re barely holding together as your fingers hit the keys. Asus: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. is een grote Taiwanese fabrikant van computerhardware gevestigd in Taipei, opgericht in 1989. Onder de merknaam Asus produceert het bedrijf een breed scala aan producten, waaronder laptops, desktops, moederborden, grafische kaarten, monitoren, smartphones en netwerkapparatuur, complete systemen en pc-onderdelen voor eindgebruikers.

Onder de merknaam ROG (Republic of Gamers) produceert ASUS gaming laptops die bij gamers bekend staan om hun krachtige specificaties, speciale grafische kaarten, schermen met hoge verversingssnelheid en geavanceerde koelsystemen.

Naast gaming wordt een breed scala aan notebooks aangeboden voor verschillende behoeften en budgetten, van ultraslanke en lichtgewicht ultrabooks tot veelzijdige 2-in-1 convertibles en budgetvriendelijke opties. In 2023 had Asus wereldwijd een marktaandeel van 7% op de pc-markt.

De klanttevredenheid over ASUS-notebooks heeft betrekking op de prestaties, de functies en de goede prijs-prestatieverhouding van ASUS-notebooks. Zoals bij elk merk zijn er echter af en toe meldingen van problemen zoals oververhitting, drivercompatibiliteit of problemen met de bouwkwaliteit.

Alleen oudere games kunnen vloeiend draaien met deze grafische chips (als ze niet veeleisend zijn). Gedeeld geheugen grafische cores in deze categorie hebben het voordeel van minder warmte-ontwikkeling en langere batterijlooptijd. Voor kantoor, internet, beeldcorrectie- en videomonteringswerk zijn deze grafische chips nog steeds bruikbaar zonder enige beperkingen.

Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail): Geïntegreerde GPU voor tablet en notebook Bay Trail SoC's. Gebaseerd op de Ivy Bridge GPU met vier Execution Units en ondersteuning voor DirectX 11.

De meeste niet-veeleisende huidige games kunnen vloeiend draaien. Wees voorbereid op verminderde grafische weergave door lage detailinstellingen en lage resoluties. Toch verschaffen deze kaarten voldoende prestatie voor kantoor taken en video bekijken (niet voor HD videos).
