De MacBook prop doet qua prestatie absoluut niet onder aan de verwachting. Ik heb de limieten van de CPU tot dusver nog niet gevonden. Had ik de keuze voor een MacBook ook gemaakt als mijn werkgever niet had meebetaald? Ik durf het niet te zeggen. Ben ik tevreden met mijn keuze? JA, absoluut.

Deze MBP gekocht als vervanging van mijn MBA-M1. De voornaamste reden was de grootte van het beeldscherm en geheugen. De bouwkwaliteit is prima, de laptop voelt degelijk aan. De laptop is tijdens het gebruik snel en heel erg stil. Tevens is het fijn dat de batterijduur groot is. Als conclusie kan ik zeggen dat ik heel tevreden ben met mijn nieuwe computer. Hij heeft bijna alle voordelen van de MBA-M1 en is op veel vlakken een duidelijke verbetering.

Als oude rot ben ik begonnen met windows 3.11 en eigenlijk altijd trouw gebleven aan windows als dagelijkse computer. Tot afgelopen zomer, na de zoveelste crash en de zoveelste windows update was ik het zat. De keuze is dan linux of apple. Ondanks dat ik meerdere servers op linux draai ben ik toch voor apple gevallen. Gewoon omdat ik ook een iPad en iPhone heb. Lekker makkelijk alles op 1 platform en de betrouwbaarheid van apple is prima. Ik wilde een M1 processor omdat ik jaren plezier hoop te hebben en het laatste model en nieuwste processor zorgen voor langere ondersteuning. De prestaties van de processor zijn verbluffend, het energieverbruik is laag en de betrouwbaarheid lijkt wel oké te zijn. De M1 processor lijkt intel te hebben verslagen.

The MacBook Pro 2021 is a wonderful, expensive and hard-to-ignore laptop. After a few years of MacBook Pros with hefty sacrifices, this feels like the most complete Apple product I’ve ever reviewed. From the reintroduction of some vital ports to the stunning Mini LED display and the wide array of powerful internals on offer, this is a fantastic machine for all those who are willing to part with the cash. It isn’t for everyone, though – and that’s absolutely fine. For those who want a laptop for word processing, browsing, Netflix and emailing, this machine is overkill; the MacBook Air M1 is far better choice. It also remains a poor choice for gamers, not because of what’s on offer, but due to MacOS. Simply put, this is the best laptop I have ever used.

If you need this kind of power (or the expansive 16-in. display), the MacBook Pro is a definite must. This model combines all that made its predecessor great, addresses all the criticisms people had, and underpins everything with a chip that performs like no other. And yes, next year’s model will be better again, but this model is already better than what was once seen as best. While I would like for the Apple logo on the lid to light up, I consider this MacBook Pro to be a triumph at every level, from the years of work on the internal processor to the OS and display. As you can see from the above, the decision about whether to choose the 16in MacBook Pro or the 14in MacBook Pro isn't about power or capability, because both models can take advantage of the same M1 Pro or M1 Max chips. The choice is between a larger 16in display and longer battery life, or a lighter Mac laptop. The size of the display is less important if most of the work you will be doing on it will be at a desk with an external monitor plugged in, similarly battery life only matters if you are often away from a power source. The real decision is about whether you need the M1 Pro or M1 Max. If you only need the basic M1 Pro offering, with 8-core CPU and 14-core GPU then only the 14in MacBook Pro offers that option. If on the other hand you need the ultimate M1 Max you can get that with either the 14in or 16in MacBook Pro - and choosing the 14in MacBook Pro will save you money. The element that will probably effect your decision most of all is your budget, and basically you can get more for your money if you choose the 14in MacBook Pro.

Deze middenklasse grafische kaarten kunnen alle huidige spellen vloeiend spelen. Veeleisende spellen kunnen alleen met gemiddelde detail instellingen gespeeld worden.

M1 Pro:

System on a Chip (SoC) van Apple waarin een processor (10 64-bit kernen, 8 prestatie- en 2 energiebesparende kernen) en een 16-core GPU zijn geïntegreerd. De 16 of 32 GB verenigd geheugen zijn verbonden via een 265 bit bus (200 GB/s bandbreedte).

16.20": 15-16 inch is een standaard schermgrootte voor laptops en dekt de grootste variëteit aan producten.

2.153 kg: Gewoonlijk hebben subnotebooks, ultrabooks en redelijk lichte laptops met een 12-16 inch schermdiagonaal dit gewicht.
