Now, when I look at the Redmi Note 15 5G, the device does everything you would expect from a budget phone. You get a good screen, decent battery life, and the performance is not bad for the price, either. The main camera gives good results too. While the phone does come with Android 15, Xiaomi promises long-term OS updates to give you peace of mind. But for me, the Redmi Note 15 5G missed one thing – excitement. There is not one aspect or feature that will excite you, something that you usually get when you buy a new phone. Yet you will not really miss anything when it comes to day-to-day use. So as the title suggests, the Note 15 5G is a jack of all trades, while it doesn’t master a trade in particular, it doesn’t do anything wrong either. At a starting price of Rs 22,999 (8GB/128GB), the Redmi Note 15 5G can be a good, if a bit boring choice, when the likes of the CMF Phone 2 Pro and the Lava Agni 4 do provide more interesting propositions.

Launched at a starting price of Rs 22,999, the Redmi Note 15 offers major upgrades across the board over its predecessor, to the point that it almost feels like the brand is going back to its roots by placing a strong emphasis on core aspects such as design, display, camera, and battery. The curved AMOLED display, a major highlight of the Redmi Note 15, is one of the best I’ve experienced in the sub-Rs 25,000 segment recently. On the other hand, the 108MP primary camera is a promising addition for delivering crisp and vibrant tones, the software will be supported for years to come, and with a weight of 178g, it’s a pleasure to use the phone single-handedly. However, in an attempt to perfect several core aspects, performance has taken a step back.

While official pricing has not yet been confirmed, the Redmi Note 14 launched at around $200 US, and a significant increase is not expected this year. At that price, the Redmi Note 15 delivers mid-range performance at a budget-friendly cost. Most of my complaints are easy to overlook given the value on offer, unless you specifically need a high-end camera for video work. Outside of that use case, the Redmi Note 15 consistently outperforms what its price suggests, combining strong optimization with excellent battery life. For a base model, the Redmi Note 15 performs well, lasts a long time and costs little, and while the camera will not thrill content creators, the rest of the phone consistently impressed and pleasantly surprised me.
