De IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro is een van de weinige Ultrabook-size laptops met een Core H-serie CPU in plaats van de gebruikelijke Core-U-serie voor meer verwerkingskracht. Het is echter het 90 Hz 1800p beeldscherm dat ons meer onder de indruk heeft dan de Core i7-11370H processor zelf.

EN→NLWith its beautiful display, pretty good battery life and decent performance, the Lenovo IdeaPad 7i Slim Pro is a pretty solid ultraportable for not a ton of money. It should serve you well as a daily driver for work if you can overlook the lack of port variety, awful webcam, and disappointing speaker performance. If you want something that may be able to provide you with a little more, you can always check out the Dell Inspiron 14, which has the added value of being a 2-in-1 so you can fold the keyboard around to turn it into a (bulky) tablet. If you don’t mind a smaller screen, the Dell XPS 13 is one of our favorite ultraportables, and if you don’t splurge for the (admittedly excellent) OLED display option you can get an XPS 13 for roughly the same price as Lenovo’s IdeaPad 7i Slim Pro.

EN→NLAmong Lenovo's multiple laptop brands, the IdeaPad family is decidedly the one designed for consumers: people who want decent performance at a reasonable price. Consider, then, this laptop a paragon for the pickier members of that crowd. With a 14-inch touch-enabled display, a comfortable keyboard, an Evo-certified Intel Core i7 11th Generation CPU, and the latest Windows 11 operating system, the IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro ultraportable ($1,199 as tested) is a slick mainstream machine at a bit of a premium price, and quite capable for everyday tasks. It's got the looks, and the performance; what it doesn't, and what holds it back from higher honors, is battery life.

EN→NLThe Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro is a really good laptop that has a mix of pros and cons. Mostly, the display is beautiful. It’s high-resolution and high refresh rate. I assume that we’ll see more high refresh rate screens in the world of Windows, but for now, it’s pretty rare. At the least, it’s worth checking out; I think you’ll be surprised at how much you like it. It does have its share of shortcomings though. The high resolution and refresh rate does affect the battery, and combined with the 35W processor, you’ll want to have the charger with you. It’s also got a 720p webcam, which is unacceptable in the age of working from home. But the overall experience is just so good. It’s got a phenomenal keyboard, a beautiful display, solid build quality, and proper ports. With the 35W processor, you can connect an external GPU without feeling a lag in CPU performance. It’s pretty great.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro is a 14” Ultrabook with a more powerful CPU and a better than average 16:10 aspect ratio 90Hz high res touch screen compared to competitors in its sub- $1,000 price class. The clamshell Windows 11 laptop has Intel Core i5 and i7 35 watt 11th gen CPUs instead of the usual lower power U series processors, and Intel Iris Xe graphics. The laptop has 16GB RAM, a 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, USB-A and a Windows Hello IR camera with presence detection to automatically lock and unlock Windows. The 2880 x 1800 display, aluminum case with 1 finger opening and an ample battery round out the features.

Its build quality is slightly lacking and its battery life is mediocre, but its performance is solid and its display is excellent for the class of machine. It’s a good-looking laptop that’s reasonably sized and attractive, if simply designed. The extra features, such as the user presence detection technology, are welcome additions that add value. The IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro is a solid addition to the 14-inch clamshell market and carves out a healthy niche for itself thanks to its superior display.

Intel Iris Xe G7 96EUs:
Geïntegreerde grafische kaart in Intel Tiger Lake G4 SoC's op basis van de nieuwe Gen. 12-architectuur met 96 EU's (Execution Units / Shader Cluster). De kloksnelheid is afhankelijk van het processormodel. De Tiger Lake chips worden geproduceerd in het moderne 10nm+ proces bij Intel.
Deze grafische kaarten zouden alle huidige spellen moeten kunnen draaien, maar de meeste spellen zullen alleen met gemiddelde of lage detail instellingen en lage resoluties goed werken. Oudere of minder veeleisende spellen kunnen nog wel met goede grafische instellingen gespeeld worden.

i7-11370H:
Tiger Lake (H35-serie) gebaseerde high-end quad-core SoC voor dunne en lichte gaming laptops en werkstations. De vier CPU-kernen klokken met 3 - 3,3 GHz basisklok (28 - 35 W TDP) en tot 4,8 GHz Boost klok. De geïntegreerde G7 GPU biedt 96 kernen op 400 - 1350 MHz.

14.00": Dit schermformaat wordt vooral gebruikt voor subnotebooks, ultrabooks en convertibles. Voor alle drie types is dit formaat redelijk groot. De grootste verscheidenheid aan subnotebooks wordt vertegenwoordigd in deze klasse.
Grote schermformaten laten hogere resoluties toe. Details zoals letters zijn groter. Anderzijds is het energieverbruik lager bij kleine schermdiagonalen en de toestellen zijn kleiner, lichter en goedkoper.

1.389 kg: Dit gewicht is typisch voor erg grote tablets, subnotebooks, ultrabooks en convertibles met een 11-13 inch schermdiagonaal.
Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" uit de Engelse legende, novo (Latijn voor nieuw) werd in 1984 opgericht als Chinees handelsbedrijf in computers. In 2004 was het bedrijf de grootste laptopfabrikant in China en, na de overname van IBM's pc-divisie in 2005, de op drie na grootste ter wereld. Naast desktops en notebooks produceert het bedrijf monitoren, projectors, servers, enz. en is het gespecialiseerd in de ontwikkeling, productie en marketing van consumentenelektronica, pc's, software, bedrijfsoplossingen en aanverwante diensten.
In 2016 stond het bedrijf op de eerste plaats in de wereld wat betreft computerverkopen. Dit was in 2023 nog steeds het geval, met een wereldwijd marktaandeel van ongeveer 23%. Belangrijke productlijnen zijn Thinkpad, Legion en Ideapad.

76.73%: Dit cijfer is niet echt overtuigend. Het moet in acht worden genomen dat er bijna geen laptops zijn die een score onder de 60% hebben. Dit notebook is beneden gemiddeld beoordeeld, en is niet aanbevolen te kopen.
