Groot, goed en betaalbaar. De Y7 2019 is verkrijgbaar voor slechts €199, maar Huawei is er nog steeds in geslaagd om een 6,26-inch beeldscherm, dubbele camera aan de achterzijde en een batterij van 4000 mAh in de behuizing te proppen, samen met andere indrukwekkende functies. Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

Om de schermhelderheid te verlagen schakelen sommige laptops het backlight erg snel aan en uit. Dit gebeurt aan een dergelijk hoge frequentie dat het niet zichtbaar is voor het menselijk oog. Als de frequentie te laag is kunnen personen met gevoelige ogen geïrriteerd geraken, hoofdpijn krijgen en zelfs flickering waarnemen.
Screen flickering / PWM niet waargenomen

Ter vergelijking: 52 % van alle geteste toestellen maakten geen gebruik van PWM om de schermhelderheid te verlagen. Als het wel werd gebruikt, werd een gemiddelde van 9715 (minimum: 43 - maximum: 142900) Hz waargenomen.

Responstijd Scherm

De responstijden van het scherm tonen hoe snel het scherm in staat is om van één kleur naar de andere te veranderen. Trage responstijden kunnen aanleiding geven tot 'nabeelden' rond bewegende objecten of het scherm wazig maken (blur). Vooral spelers van snelle 3D-games hebben baat bij een scherm met snelle responstijden.

Het scherm vertoonde prima responstijden in onze tests maar is misschien wat te traag voor competitieve games.
Ter vergelijking: alle testtoestellen variëren van 0.8 (minimum) tot 240 (maximum) ms. » 39 % van alle toestellen zijn beter.
Dit betekent dat de gemeten responstijd vergelijkbaar is met het gemiddelde (25.4 ms) van alle geteste toestellen.

De Huawei Y7 2019 is een triomfantelijke upgrade ten opzichte van de Y7 2018. De Chinese fabrikant heeft het apparaat op bijna elk belangrijk gebied verbeterd, waaronder het ontwerp, beeldscherm, prestaties en batterijlevensduur. De smalle beeldschermranden en het 6,26-inch IPS-paneel maken de Y7 2019 er ook duurder uitzien dan hij werkelijk is.

De combinatie van 3 GB RAM, 32 GB opslagruimte en een Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC is ook behoorlijk voor een instapmodel. Er zijn apparaten die betere prestaties bieden voor dezelfde prijs, maar weinigen hebben ook fatsoenlijke camera's, echte dual SIM- en microSD-kaartfunctionaliteit en een fantastische batterijduur.

De Huawei Y7 2019 heeft een uitstekende prijs-kwaliteitsverhouding. Weinig instap smartphones bieden zoveel als de Y7 2019 doet.

Natuurlijk heeft Huawei op sommige vlakken moeten bezuinigen om de kosten laag te houden. De 720p-resolutie is teleurstellend, net als het ontbreken van NFC en het gebruik van een micro-USB-poort in plaats van Type-C. De Motorola Moto G7 Play en Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite bieden betere prestaties, terwijl de Samsung Galaxy A6 Plus (2018) ook een solide alternatief is en NFC heeft. Huawei heeft echter veel goed gedaan bij de Y7 2019, en de tekortkomingen mogen niet ten koste gaan van wat een uitstekende instapmodel-smartphone is.
