Kort testrapport Coffee Lake: i7-8700K and i5-8400

De nieuwe Coffee Lake CPU's zijn Intels eerste poging om meer dan vier fysieke cores bereikbaar te maken voor consumenten. Ongeacht of dit een reactie is op AMD's Ryzen, krijgt Coffee Lake het voor elkaar om hoge kloksnelheden te combineren met meer cores dan eerder het geval was. Daardoor heeft het onze aanbeveling verdiend.

Of we AMD moeten bedanken voor de snelle beschikbaarheid van Intel six-core processoren zal altijd een mysterie blijven. Echter, het werd snel duidelijk dat de Core i7-8700K een schot in de roos is wat betreft multi-core prestaties, welke vergelijkbaar zijn met die van Ryzen. Ook single-core prestaties zijn extreem goed. De processor is daarom zeer geschikt voor games en is daardoor een zeer veelzijdige microprocessor voor zowel professionals en consumenten. Dit geldt ook voor de i5-8400: de exceptionele gaming prestaties komen ten goede van veeleisende gamers.
