Volle kracht vooruit! Met de lancering van de Ryzen 3000-processoren heeft AMD Intel onder grote druk gezet. Dat hebben we in onze review van de AMD Ryzen 9 3900X al op een opvallende manier kunnen ervaren. Met 16 cores gaat het topmodel voor de AM4 socket nog een stap verder en laat zien dat Intel het ook in de toekomst moeilijk zal hebben, omdat de AMD Ryzen 9 3950X superieur is aan de concurrentie in multithreaded toepassingen. De AMD Ryzen 3000-familie scoort over het algemeen met een goede energie-efficiëntie wanneer de processoren binnen hun specificaties worden gebruikt. Met de AMD Ryzen 9 3950X heeft AMD een 16-core processor geïntroduceerd voor het populaire AM4 socket, die zelfs op oudere X370-moederborden kan worden gebruikt. Gebruikers die besluiten om iets minder dan 770 euro voor de processor op tafel te leggen (~$833) worden beloond met topprestaties. De AMD Ryzen 9 3950X scoort vooral in multithreadtoepassingen, maar hij beheerst ook heel goed gamen en het gat naar Intel kan steeds meer worden gedicht.

Intel is nog steeds de eerste keuze als het gaat om pure spelprestaties. Maar in tijden waarin iedereen met Twitch en YouTube snel een content creator kan worden, heeft de AMD-processor weer een stapje voor omdat gamen en streamen op één PC zonder problemen kan worden gedaan dankzij de 16 cores en 32 threads.

Wie de AMD Ryzen 9 3950X in bezit heeft, kan achterover leunen en ontspannen en kan met een gerust hart de volgende CPU-generatie overslaan.

Hetzelfde is mogelijk met de AMD Ryzen 9 3900X met 12 cores en 24 threads. Maar als je dat beetje extra prestaties wilt, is de AMD Ryzen 9 3950X de enige optie. Deze laatste is wat sneller in de tests. Uiteindelijk moeten gebruikers zelf beslissen wat ze met hun PC willen doen om een aankoopbeslissing te nemen. Met een AMD Ryzen 9 3950X kun je de komende jaren goed doorkomen om vervolgens de logische stap naar Zen4 te kunnen maken.
