Having used both an iPad Air and Honor's MagicPad 2 at home, and messed around with various Samsung Galaxy Tabs at trade shows, I genuinely prefer Honor's effort and could probably argue ways in which it can give an iPad Pro a run for its money. Generally speaking, I like the Honor MagicPad 4. It’s a superbly put together all-round productivity tablet. It’s fast, the screen is beautiful and battery life is excellent. You even get a selection of reasonably useful software tools included – I particularly liked the ability to share files quickly with an iPhones, MacBooks and iPads. Is it a superior tablet than the iPad Pro? No, but it is a lot cheaper and the hardware is competitive. Is it better value than cheaper Android-based tablets such as the just-launched Xiaomi Pad 8? Not really, but it is a faster perfomer, it’s lighter and thinner, and it has a larger, more luxurious OLED display. In the end, however, it really depends what you want.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 8:
SD 8s Gen 3: High-end SoC (System on a Chip) voor smartphones die in 2024 werd geïntroduceerd. Het bevat onder andere een snelle Cortex-X4 "Prime Core" tot 3 GHz en 4 extra snelle Cortex-A720 kernen van 2,8 GHz. Om stroom te besparen zijn er ook 3 extra ARM Cortex-A520 kernen met 2,3 GHz geïnstalleerd. Een 5G-modem, WiFi 7 en een aanzienlijk snellere AI-engine zijn geïntegreerd.
SD 8 Gen 3: High-end SoC voor smartphones die eind 2022 werd geïntroduceerd met een snelle primaire kern gebaseerd op een ARM Cortex-X3-architectuur geklokt op maximaal 3,2 GHz. Twee andere prestatiegerichte kernen zijn gebaseerd op de A715 en ondersteunen ook alleen 64-bits toepassingen. De twee extra A710-kernen ondersteunen ook 32 bit-toepassingen, net als de energiebesparende Cortex-A510-kernen. Naast de processorkernen bevat de SoC een WiFi 7 modem, een Hexagon DSP (voor AI-versnelling) en een Spectra ISP. De geïntegreerde geheugencontroller ondersteunt snel LPDDR5x-geheugen tot 4.200 MHz. 5G is opgenomen in de chip met de Snapdragon X70 modem.
