EN→NLTo conclude, the HP EliteBook 8 G1i looks like an interesting option for those who are considering a compact and lightweight business laptop. The device comes equipped with a premium design and offers a decent display, minus the screen wobbling issue. The performance is up to the mark, and the HP AI Companion application is surely a hit, in my opinion. The backlit keyboard is decent, and the touchpad works fine during the testing time. Moreover, the laptop also delivers strongly on the webcam front, and the Poly Camera Pro is sure to be helpful in making video calls. That said, the battery life could have been better. So, if you are planning for an enterprise-class laptop that provides a good amount of security and comes with smart features, then you can surely consider the HP EliteBook 8 G1i.

EN→NLThe HP EliteBook 8 G1a ticks plenty of corporate boxes, something HP is exceptionally skilled at doing. What it offers is a powerful yet battery-efficient solution with all the latest security enhancements and management tools that corporate IT will love. It also features sufficient ports that most users won’t need a docking station, and the underlying platform is capable of running local AI models and tools. It isn’t the cheapest laptop running this AMD Ryzen AI platform, but the quality of construction and features like Thunderbolt ports go some way to justify the extra it can cost over more affordable options. Not the best 14-inch laptop I’ve seen, but a solid platform that delivers power-user appeal without sacrificing its practicality.

HP: Het Amerikaanse bedrijf werd opgericht in 1939 en is een belangrijke server- en printerfabrikant en een van de toonaangevende IT-bedrijven ter wereld. Tot 2015 heette het bedrijf Hewlett-Packard Company. Na een splitsing werd de computerdivisie omgedoopt tot HP Inc.
In 2023 had HP een geschat marktaandeel van 22% van de wereldwijde pc-verkoop, waarmee het nummer 2 werd na Lenovo.
Deze grafische kaarten zouden alle huidige spellen moeten kunnen draaien, maar de meeste spellen zullen alleen met gemiddelde of lage detail instellingen en lage resoluties goed werken. Oudere of minder veeleisende spellen kunnen nog wel met goede grafische instellingen gespeeld worden.
AMD Radeon 780M:
Geïntegreerde grafische kaart in de Ryzen 7040 mobiele serie APU's gebaseerd op de RDNA3-architectuur met 12 CU's (= 768 shaders) en een kloksnelheid tot 3 GHz.
Intel Arc 140V: Een behoorlijk snelle geïntegreerde grafische adapter die naar verluidt bepaalde Intel Lunar Lake processors gebruiken. De 140V heeft 8 kernen met Xe²-architectuur die draaien op maximaal 2.050 MHz en 8 ray tracing-eenheden; hij is geschikt voor DirectX 12 Ultimate en ondersteunt ook alle moderne videocodecs. Als recente uitgelekte benchmarkscores een indicatie zijn, zullen de gamingprestaties iets beter zijn dan die van de GeForce MX570.
AMD Radeon 860M: Een vrij krachtige iGPU met RDNA 3.5 architectuur die begin 2025 debuteerde en een directe opvolger is van de Radeon 760M. De 8 CU's/WGP's (512 unified shaders) draaien op maximaal 3 GHz. DX12 Ultimate, ray tracing, AI-beeldgeneratie en andere moderne functies worden allemaal ondersteund, net als veel populaire videocodecs, waaronder in de eerste plaats AVC, HEVC, VP9 en AV1. De gamingprestaties zijn goed genoeg voor het spelen van 2024 games op lage grafische instellingen.

AMD Hawk Point (Zen 4/4c):
R7 250: Een krachtige laptopprocessor (APU) uit de Hawk Point familie. Dit is geen geheel nieuwe APU; in plaats daarvan is de R7 250 een vermomde R7 8840U. De acht Zen 4 cores draaien op 3,3 GHz tot 5,1 GHz en zijn SMT-enabled voor een totaal van 16 verwerkingsthreads.
Intel Lunar Lake:
Core Ultra 7 268V: De op één na snelste Lunar Lake processor bij lancering. Dit is een SoC voor gebruik in slankere tablets en laptops met 4 gloednieuwe E-cores en 4 ietwat nieuwe P-cores die tot 5,0 GHz draaien, samen met de veelbelovende nieuwe Arc 140V iGPU en 32 GB on-package LPDDR5x-8533 RAM. Een nieuwe 48 TOPS neurale engine, TB 4 en PCIe 5 SSD ondersteuning zijn ook inbegrepen. De 268V zal waarschijnlijk geen nieuwe prestatierecords vestigen. We verwachten dat hij multi-core prestaties zal leveren die vergelijkbaar zijn met die van de Core i7-1260P en Core 5 120U.
AMD Strix / Gorgon Point:
Ryzen AI 7 350: Een relatief krachtige processor uit de Strix Point familie die in oktober 2024 zijn debuut maakte. De APU met hybride architectuur heeft 8 CPU-kernen (een mix van Zen 5- en Zen 5c-kernen) die op maximaal 5,0 GHz draaien, samen met de Radeon 880M grafische adapter en de 50 TOPS XDNA 2 neurale engine. De AMD Secure Processor (in een notendop een on-package ARM co-processor) is ook aan boord, net als een paar andere high-end functies, zoals AMD-Vi. Andere belangrijke kenmerken zijn PCIe 4, USB 4 en tot LPDDR5x-8000 RAM ondersteuning, inclusief ECC RAM. De TDP vermogensdoelstelling voor de lange termijn kan oplopen tot 55 W.
