The HP EliteBook 8 G1a serves up a host of great features, including the Wolf security suite. You can keep all of your confidential documents secured, while the smart display can help prevent others from peeking over your shoulder. The EliteBook 8 G1a camera also enables Auto Lock & Awake - which can automatically dim your screen when you look away, and hibernate your laptop if you wander off for a coffee and forget to lock the laptop. You've got a smart selection of ports, including dual Thunderbolt 4 USB-C, with DP2.1 support. Plus, HP Fast Charge support and various battery saver features.

The laptop delivers on the performance side of that, outperforming a mix of "Lunar Lake"-based flagship models in our tests. But HP's drastic price disparities between MSRP and sale price make this model hard to gauge on value. If you're tempted by the design and features, set up an alert to grab one (or your lot, if you're a fleet manager) while they're far south of MSRP. Also, while the EliteBook is well-designed and solidly built, its display is behind the pack in color coverage and native resolution. These panel shortcomings are made plainer by its bigger-than-most screen.

EN→NLThe HP EliteBook 8 G1a combines a premium metal build quality with AMD Ryzen AI 7 PRO 350 hardware. In many ways, the result is an excellent, well-balanced machine. AMD’s chips are highly underrated right now. They don’t match the CPU performance you’ll find in a high-end workstation or the battery life you’ll find in a thin-and-light laptop, but they offer an excellent mix of both. Plus, this delivers an NPU fast enough for Copilot+ PC features, so the AI features here aren’t just marketing. If apps ever start taking more advantage of NPUs, you’ll want a fast one like the 50 TOPS NPU here — not the 12 TOPS NPU Intel is still delivering in most PCs. But this isn’t the be-all, end-all business laptop. The display drags down the overall experience, and the graphics performance just isn’t up there with the CPU and NPU performance.

AMD Radeon 860M: Een vrij krachtige iGPU met RDNA 3.5 architectuur die begin 2025 debuteerde en een directe opvolger is van de Radeon 760M. De 8 CU's/WGP's (512 unified shaders) draaien op maximaal 3 GHz. DX12 Ultimate, ray tracing, AI-beeldgeneratie en andere moderne functies worden allemaal ondersteund, net als veel populaire videocodecs, waaronder in de eerste plaats AVC, HEVC, VP9 en AV1. De gamingprestaties zijn goed genoeg voor het spelen van 2024 games op lage grafische instellingen.
Deze grafische kaarten zouden alle huidige spellen moeten kunnen draaien, maar de meeste spellen zullen alleen met gemiddelde of lage detail instellingen en lage resoluties goed werken. Oudere of minder veeleisende spellen kunnen nog wel met goede grafische instellingen gespeeld worden.

Ryzen AI 7 PRO 350: Een relatief krachtige processor uit de Krackan Point-familie die begin 2025 werd geïntroduceerd. De APU bevat 8 CPU-kernen (4 Zen 5-kernen met maximaal 5 GHz en 4 Zen 5c-kernen met maximaal 3,5 GHz). Vergeleken met de bijna identieke consumentenchip, de Ryzen AI 7 350ondersteunt de PRO-variant extra beheer- en beveiligingsfuncties.
