Well, well, well, how do we sum all this up then? In the grand scheme of things, the Aero X16 isn't going to win many accolades here. It's certainly not going to make our best gaming laptop list. It's just not. The crippling effect of that 85 W TGP is rather astonishing. The fact that it can't even keep up with Gigabyte's own cheaper models with lesser GPUs is not exactly ideal, particularly as it's such a key selling point. Now, yes, there is a more modern CPU here, optimized for AI of course (although really comparing those NPUs to a dedicated GPU on AI performance is like sewing with a broken needle: pointless), and yes, there's a higher-resolution screen here too, but is that really enough to justify the absolute confusion ensuing from this cacophony of TGP nonsense? I'm not so sure.

Ik heb deze laptop gekocht voor mijn studie artificiële intelligentie (en natuurlijk ook om te gamen wanneer ik eigenlijk studeren moet). en ik kan met veel tevredenheid zeggen dat deze laptop aan beiden mijn behoeftes voldoet. ik kan makkelijk mijn modellen trainen en zonder lag spellen als beamNG drive op max settings spelen. het toetsen bord voelt fijn aan en typt lekker, maar het plastic is hier wel een beetje zwak en buigt naar binnen als er hard op word gedrukt. de laptop heeft een mooi desing en lijk niet op zo een baksteen van een laptop als dat vele andere game laptops doen. veder is het enige echt comentaar wat ik kan geven is dat de ports een beetje ver aan de voorkant zitten. al met al ben ik eigenlijk alleen maar positief over deze laptop en raad ik hem zeker aan

85% Gigabyte Aero X16 review: A creator’s laptop that moonlights as a gamer

So after my time spent with the Aero X16, what’s my verdict? Honestly, it feels like a laptop that knows what it wants to be, even if it doesn’t nail everything. Gigabyte clearly built this with creators in mind, then gave it just enough GPU grunt so you can still kick back with a game or two. And that pitch works, at least most of the time. The design is probably the clearest sign of Gigabyte’s intent. This isn’t a laptop you’ll be embarrassed to pull out in a client meeting, nor is it one that screams for attention with RGB lights. The clean chassis and brushed-metal lid are a big step away from the aggressive, “gamer” styling we’ve come to expect from gaming brands – that even Gigabyte is guilty of in the past. And I like that – it makes the Aero X16 easier to fit into different settings, whether you’re working from a cafe, editing photos in the office, or squeezing in a gaming session at home.

Gigabyte: Gigabyte Technology is een Taiwanese fabrikant van computerhardware, opgericht in 1986, die vooral bekend staat om zijn moederborden en grafische kaarten. Gigabyte biedt een breed scala aan producten, waaronder moederborden, grafische kaarten, laptops, monitoren, systemen en componenten. De laptops van Gigabyte bieden gaming en creatieve functies voor onderweg. De monitoren van Gigabyte bieden 4K Pro Gaming.

Deze grafische kaarten zouden de meeste moderne spellen op een hoge resolutie en hoge details moeten kunnen draaien (enkele uitzonderingen zijn mogelijk).

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop: Een aankomende grafische kaart uit de Blackwell-familie voor laptops, die Team Green waarschijnlijk op CES 2025 zal presenteren. Aangezien de 4070 laptop 4.608 unified shaders (CUDA-kernen) heeft, zal de 5070 hoogstwaarschijnlijk meer dan 5.000 shaders hebben.

AMD Strix / Gorgon Point:

Ryzen AI 7 350: Een relatief krachtige processor uit de Strix Point familie die in oktober 2024 zijn debuut maakte. De APU met hybride architectuur heeft 8 CPU-kernen (een mix van Zen 5- en Zen 5c-kernen) die op maximaal 5,0 GHz draaien, samen met de Radeon 880M grafische adapter en de 50 TOPS XDNA 2 neurale engine. De AMD Secure Processor (in een notendop een on-package ARM co-processor) is ook aan boord, net als een paar andere high-end functies, zoals AMD-Vi. Andere belangrijke kenmerken zijn PCIe 4, USB 4 en tot LPDDR5x-8000 RAM ondersteuning, inclusief ECC RAM. De TDP vermogensdoelstelling voor de lange termijn kan oplopen tot 55 W.

Ryzen AI 9 HX 370: Een krachtige chip uit de Strix Point familie die naar verwachting in juni 2024 zijn debuut zal maken. De APU heeft naar verluidt 12 CPU-kernen, een 16 CU RDNA 3+ grafische adapter en een 45 TOPS neurale engine.
