As much as I like the sleek looks, OLED display, quad speakers and webcam, I can't offer much of a recommendation for this 14-inch block of granite of a laptop. Sure, the chassis feels rock solid, but it's a shoulder killer. Unless you absolutely love its minimalistic look, I'd steer you instead toward the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 for a more portable 14-inch laptop that still delivers the goods for creators.

The 14 Premium is a missed opportunity. This was Dell's chance to redefine the standards for its Premium laptop range. Instead, it's the XPS 14 with the name crossed out and a new CPU. In 2025, that doesn't cut it. Premium rivals such as the MacBook Pro 14in M4 deliver a far more convincing vision of the ultimate 14-inch laptop, and dramatically cheaper Windows rivals deliver a similar performance for much less cash and with fewer compromises.

Despite its new name, the Dell 14 Premium is, for good or ill, a refreshed XPS laptop from last year. You get the same (contentious) ultraportable design, beautiful OLED panel and strong performance. Sure, the lack of physical function keys is a bummer, and I wish battery life were better, but this laptop’s strengths make up for some of its weaknesses. If you can get past the unusual design and don’t mind paying extra to get an OLED model, the Dell 14 Premium is an overall great Windows laptop for both work and gaming.

85% Dell 14 Premium (XPS 14) review

I absolutely love the Dell 14 Premium. It has a MacBook Pro feel, without trying to be a MacBook clone. It has the battery life, the power, the screen, and the rest. It's a bit heavy, which is also true of the 14-inch MacBook Pro, but it's also not a Copilot+ laptop. Microsoft is going to continue rolling out features for it, and you won't get them. However, this is more of an Intel issue. More powerful laptops use Arrow Lake, and therefore don't have the more powerful NPU that's needed for it. That should change in the next generation though. The Dell 14 Premium is as good as you can get. If you want the best, go for it.

Intel Arc 140T:

Deze grafische kaarten zouden alle huidige spellen moeten kunnen draaien, maar de meeste spellen zullen alleen met gemiddelde of lage detail instellingen en lage resoluties goed werken. Oudere of minder veeleisende spellen kunnen nog wel met goede grafische instellingen gespeeld worden.

Ultra 7 255H: High-end mobiele processor gebaseerd op de Arrow Lake architectuur met 16 cores verdeeld over 3 clusters. De snelle 6 P-cores klokken tot 5,1 GHz. Er zijn ook 8 kleinere E-cores met maximaal 4,4 GHz en 2 kleine energiezuinige cores (zelfde architectuur) met maximaal 2,5 GHz. Er is een kleine NPU geïntegreerd met 13 TOPS piekprestaties en ondersteuning voor vPro Essentials.
