Gaming and photography can cause the device to warm up a little too much – never to a level that’ll slow the phone, but more than most other handsets would under similar circumstances. The battery capacity is a little disappointing too – a device that’s so good for battery-intensive activities should really be able to last longer when used for those activities.

The Mi 9 isn’t coming to the States officially, but in Europe, it sells for around 449 euro (roughly $509) while the Galaxy S10 costs 899 euro (roughly $1,020) over there and the OnePlus 6T, arguably the Mi 9’s closest competitor, is 549 euro (around $624). So while the Mi 9 has some drawbacks, the value you’re getting is immense. In video mode it does even better, finding itself at the very top of our ranking, making it the top choice for mobile video shooters. This is partly due to the Mi 9 being the first test device recording 4K video by default and therefore scoring very high for texture and detail, but it also puts in a very good performance in all other test categories.

De meeste niet-veeleisende huidige games kunnen vloeiend draaien. Wees voorbereid op verminderde grafische weergave door lage detailinstellingen en lage resoluties. Toch verschaffen deze kaarten voldoende prestatie voor kantoor taken en video bekijken (niet voor HD videos).
